Gene, it is adhesive backed woven fabric that is included in Studio27's seat belt set. A challenge to work with!

I bet it is, trying to get the hardware to move over/around on that adhesive sounds, 'sticky' But, they look close to real from here.

And not sticking to itself before you want it to  but I like the look of the fabric.

I looked for that belt kit online, hard to find, where did you get your's JC?

Unfortunately I don't remember Gene. Here is a link to the North American Studio27 dealers. This is what the set looks like.

Thanks Tommy. How is you Carrera RS coming?

Stuck at what to do with the headlight buckets and glass. They where filled full with glue, have tried to drill out the old glue

and shape them back to stock. The glass i`m not sure what to do with since they have a certain shape the usual kits dont

have. Might go with clear yellow on them. Also i got sent the wrong tubes twice,so of annoyance it went back into the box

for a little while. Will bring it back soon. Thanks for asking.

Sometimes it better to take a break than try to push just to get it done and end up unhappy with the results. Chin up.

A few things to note in this picture.

  1. The jack and brackets. The jack comes from a Fujimi Porsche 356 and has been modified to resemble the work's team jack.
  2. The oil line brackets attached the the drive shaft tunnel. The oil and fuel lines where ran through the cabin to protect them from damage.
  3. The removable panel on the transmission tunnel. The work's team created this removable panel to provide quick and easy access to the gear box for service or removal.
  4. The fireproof panel for the rear bulkhead

Absolutely outstanding work JC.

I grew up with mk1 & mk2 escorts. My first car was a 1.1 popular and the last one I owned was an RS 2000, with a factory fitted X Pack.

Your build is the most detailed model Escort I've ever seen. Can't wait to see the finished article.

Looks pretty cool JC, are you gonna have a driver figure?

Thanks Gene. No driver figures but I might add helmets and intercom headphones. I need to confirm the headphones were in use in '79.

The detail you have put into this kit amazing!

Thanks MIke.

Thanks Darren. Sounds like you owned some cool cars. It's comforting to know someone with 1:1 experience approves of my modifications.

Great interior work so far JC!!! I don't blame you for the lack of figures. I don't know what your skill level with those are but while I'm quite comfortable with inanimate objects I question my abilities with figure painting. That's an art all to its own right there.

Thanks Joe. I agree that modeling figures is a whole new discipline that I have zero experience with so I am not going to try and learn it with this build.

Oh well, maybe next build,

Not likely Gene. I am working on helmet boxes and a pair of helmets however.

Here is a picture of the final version of the front wheels. Fireball Modelworks has done a great job on these.
