Cool Hand Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Great work so far, look forward to seeing it all start to come together.
exesivefire Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 got the fuel cell started, figuring out where everything can go. and started on the upper links.
exesivefire Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Links are done, also made a gas cap.
exesivefire Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) Ordered up a sherline lathe, guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to use it for this. Edited February 1, 2015 by exesivefire
wayne swayze Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 You're doing an amazing job on this build! Beautiful chassis work!
jbwelda Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 fantastic frame building, and great engine too. I vote for the stacks slanted upward, looks wicked. I would try to do something similar with the exhaust system jb
exesivefire Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 I'm going to attempt to do a crazy header for the exhaust... Maybe that's what I'll try tonight?
exesivefire Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 Started the header, ended up making something cool that didn't fit. so I decided to mount the radiator instead..
exesivefire Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Got the header sorted out finally, we wont talk about the 5 or so faile dones before this. Not perfect but I think its convincing. I still need to lop the ends off and make the collectors. Ended up doing a pair of 3 to 1 instead of trying to out all 6 together.
exesivefire Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 and with the collectors and some scrap rod for visual aid for how the exhaust will fit.
Cool Hand Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Very impressive work on those headers, I bet they were fun to make.
Greg Pugh Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Holy cow this is COOL!! No idea how I didn't see this before but glad I found it now!
exesivefire Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Got some primer on the header. First part in primer! Ha
Revstew Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Thanks!! Means a lot coming from a builder of your caliber. Got a bit of the chrome off, the wheels were molded in Grey, so that helps visualize for now. What wheels did you use for this? I read a Pegasus set and some Acura wheels? They look fantastic!! Just curious though what they are from or how you made them Thanks
exesivefire Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Hopefully this helps a bit.. The rears are a two piece 23 inch wheel from Pegasus, and the fronts are a ring trimmed off a 19. I trimmed the Acura wheels to slide in. Edited February 11, 2015 by exesivefire
afx Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Nice scratch building. What did you use for the header collectors - heat shrink?
exesivefire Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Nice scratch building. What did you use for the header collectors - heat shrink? Yep, works pretty good I think
Revstew Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hopefully this helps a bit.. The rears are a two piece 23 inch wheel from Pegasus, and the fronts are a ring trimmed off a 19. I trimmed the Acura wheels to slide in. Thank you for the pics. Great job on the wheels!!!
Cool Hand Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Cant wait to see all the awesome parts your now going to be able to make with a lathe.
exesivefire Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 So maybe I won't be doing all black wheels after all..
