Ira Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 The Driver! I started with a Tamiya RC Car Drivers Head and a Skull from the Evil Iron Trike. I carved away the lower front of the Helmet to make it Retro. Then I cut the top off the Skull... I applied putty to the Helmet and sanded it smooth. Then I sprayed a coat of Grey Filler /Primer on the Helmet. After a little cutting & fitting I sprayed the Skull with Silver Lacquer. This should keep the Red from the Skulls plastic from bleeding through. Test Fit! More Coming...
Ira Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 Wild Eyes! I painted the Helmet with Tamiya Gun Metal and Flat Black. Then I painted the Skull Flat White with a Black Wash. Next I added Red Plastic Rhinestones for Eyes. More Coming...

Ira Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 Big Fat Tires! I removed the "Rings" from the DW Tires with a sharp X-acto Knife. This makes them a little narrower and I think they look better too. Next I used a Sanding Block to flatten the sides of the tires. Then I sanded the area smooth and then sanded the threads. I sprayed the Tires with Testors Dullcote to make the finish uniform. Next I removed the chrome and sprayed the Deals Wheals VW Van Wheels with Tamiya Silver Leaf. Then I applied a Black Wash to the Wheels and assembled the Tires. More Coming...

Ira Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 MONSTER Decals! I found these Decals on Ebay. They are very good and they fit McScaren! Front View. Rear View. After the Decals dried I sprayed on a couple coats of Testors Glosscote. More Coming...

Ira Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Get Low! I drilled New Axle Holes just above the Original Axle Holes. That lowered the car about 1/8th inch. Here are the Wheels & Tires in the New Axle Holes. More Coming...

Ira Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Black & Screens! I painted the underside of the Body with Flat Black. Then I painted the Driver's Body Flat Black. I also added Fine Mesh Screen on the inside of the 2 Big Scoops. Next I painted the inside of the front Grill Opening Flat Black and then added Screen inside. More Coming...

Ira Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 The Big HEMI! The HEMI Engine is from a "Zinger" and the Double Blowers are from the 20th Scale "Pop Corn Wagon". I made a Roll Bar from a length of thick Solder and glued it in place with Zap-A-Gap. More Coming...
Ira Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 HOT PIPES! I'm making Exhaust Pipes for the Big HEMI. I started by cutting 2 pieces of plastic tubing. I sprayed the outside with Tamiya Silver Leaf and the inside Flat Black. Here they are glued in place. Well except for some Touch-Up Painting and some Decal Changes McScaren is Finished. I will be positing Finished Photos next week. Finished Photos Coming Soon...
