Tom Geiger Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Liver is disgusting My wife tells her childhood story about her mother feeding the six kids liver once a week, no matter how much they hated it. Her father refused to eat it so her mother would make him a hamburger instead! No leading by example in that family.
kitbash1 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Liver, kidney, some kinds of fish. Any other organ meats as well.
slusher Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 OK, my wife & I have been trying some different health food things...seen a lot of topics on fermented foods such as true sauerkraut... found out how to make it...which is basically shred cabbage, cram in jar with salt, fill with distilled water, leave it on counter top...for up to a month!!!!!!????????? First of all, I can't stand sauerkraut but for all the probiotics raw, natural kraut has, I'm trying it. We didn't do it right the first time, opened the jar...oh no...did we just fall into a raw sewage pool??!!! It smelled so bad....I almost puked right there in the kitchen!!!!!! Our next one was better, still a bit stinky....like kraut should, still don't like it :-/ Oh yeah...it stinks up the whole house!!!! Sixx, sauerkraut has to be made at a certain time of year for it to be good. I have listened to her talk to other people about it. My mom and dad made it every year in late summer. She still makes it and I do love it. I have no idea if its true or a wise tale but they always made it at a certain time..
slusher Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Liver and onions tastes great! I like liver also Harry and liver cheese but I would never want to have had it at work...
cobraman Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Liver and onions tastes great! I agree. If it's done right it can be very tasty.
Quick GMC Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Spaghetti with Parmesan cheese on top in the microwave. Smells terrible, tastes delicious. texture wise, mushrooms. Taste, olive and mushrooms are not in my food vocabulary.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Don't know what they smell like cooking, but...
chunkypeanutbutter Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 On the other hand, chocolate dipped ants are actually quite good.
slusher Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Don't know what they smell like cooking, but... Seen Andrew eat a beating snake heart. He will eat anything...
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Seen Andrew eat a beating snake heart. He will eat anything... How about the brains from a living monkey that's had its skull cracked open at the table, screaming, after which the "diners" pick the brains out ? A "delicacy" in parts of Asia. Oh, humanity.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 One word: DURIAN. I think we have a stench winner. Too bad there's no smellivision via youtube.
Agent G Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 One word: DURIAN. and the other staple of SE Asia, nuoc mam I really don't know which is worse..... G
charlie8575 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 My mom every christmas with her sister made LudiFisk I swear you could smell it two blocks away A very good friend of mine married a nice Norwegian girl from someplace around St. Paul. She WILL NOT eat Ludefisk under any circumstances. I'll be honest, lye-cured anything has little appeal to me. As for my own food dislikes, I'm not a huge fan of squash. I also get a little weird around certain tastes/textures. I can't tell you what it is, but I'll know when I don't like it. Charlie Larkin
charlie8575 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 One word: DURIAN. For those wondering: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durian I'll pass on this, too. Charlie Larkin

Roadrunner Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Which reminds me any country in which dogs are eaten should be turned into a smoldering wasteland of radioactive glass. After the dogs are evacuated. I don't know, I love hot dogs!
Roadrunner Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 A couple of years ago, I tried Limburger cheese. That stuff smells like it belongs in an outhouse.
slusher Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 A couple of years ago, I tried Limburger cheese. That stuff smells like it belongs in an outhouse. I would not be able to get past the smell
Roadrunner Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I would not be able to get past the smell I just pretended that I was a dog.
