Hessel Hemstra Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Things are coming together nicely. The subframe has been placed and the headache rack with toolbox is drawn. Hessel
landman Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Hessel, is it possible to buy a set of those wheels?
Superpeterbilt Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I would definitley be interested in a kit of that subframe, headache rack, rear fender set up. Very impressive work.
Mackvision Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Having seen the 1:1 truck several times, and know the owners/drivers this is one great subject, the real truck is awesome! that thing is a beast! very nice work on this,i cant wait to see more updates............................Mark
Chariots of Fire Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hessel that is wonderful work! What program are you using to produce the 3-D drawings? Wheels and tires are awesome!
Old Buckaroo Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I really like this one, the wheels and tires look super after being painted. Chassis is top notch also !
Hessel Hemstra Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Hessel, is it possible to buy a set of those wheels? Making these wheels is quite expensive. Shapewys changed their way of pricing which means a complete set would cost around € 150,- . You would get a replacement front axle, and bushes to make the wheels run. This is without postage. What program are you using to produce the 3-D drawings? I use a program called 'Solid Edge' I can draw 3D and virtual build a model. After that I can render a 2D drawing of it. thanks. Hessel
waterburybob Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Very interesting build here , what are you using for tread plate ? and how do you bend it to shape . Bob
Hessel Hemstra Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) With some colors on parts and the subframe being placed things work out the right way. Still some yellow details have to be added. Hessel Edited January 25, 2015 by Hessel Hemstra
Mopar - D Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Very nice progress. This is going to be a very impressive looking truck when your finished.
Hessel Hemstra Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 I have not been on this forum for some time but there has been some work done. The headache rack and toolbox are ready. Then I did some dry fitting and it turned out quite OK. Yesterday I received decals for this one from the US. They look very nice and will finish it of properly. I will try to finish in two weeks. The Mack will have it's premiere in Jabbeke, Belgium at the 'On the Road' exhibition. Thanks Hessel
72 Charger Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Hessel Did you get your headache rack and toolbox laser cut or did you cut them by hand? Mack looks great BTW
Hessel Hemstra Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 I cut them with my CNC milling machine. This works pretty good I think.
Tesla Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 The toolbox and headache rack look great! Nice work Hessel
Hessel Hemstra Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Then you just want to put some decal on it. Work continues..... Hessel
gotnitro? Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Awesome build! The decals look fantastic too
