Pim
Hi this is my first attempt at a truck by myself so go easy on me when I saw this kit cheap I picked it up. I am unsure what colour to paint it or what to haul behind it but I am half tempted to pull a revel car trailer if I can find one cheap
slusher
Very good kit for your first truck..
Petetrucker07
Welcome to dark side of modeling. This is a nice kit to start on. Take your time on doing the rims and tires. They can be a bit testy. Those car hauler trailers are quite pricey. You may want to look at AMT trailers, both van trailers and the flatbed. 1 more suggestion, treat each step of the instructions like a separate model, and it should go real smooth for ya. olsbooks
It is a great kit. There are just tons of threads with suggestions and pointers on this kit. My only major gripe with this kit is getting the tires/wheels to look right. It is a really goofy setup in my opinion. Best advice I ever got was to make each sub assembly like a model in itself. The results pay off. Good luck, welcome, and keep us posted. Lots of guys willing to help. Peace.
Tesla
Great kit for the money and first build! Jesse's right about the tires. Be patient and you'll get them to look good.
Pim
I have found a really cool metallic light blue paint to use for this and a light tan for the interior the plan is to make it like a recently "tarted up" truck but with some slight weathering
olsbooks
Your going to do well. I am assuming you will be using a spray can. Metallics can be tricky if this is your first go round with them. Make sure you wash it well, prime it good with a light color primer, and sand it gently with some ultra fine sandpaper before going with a light blue metallic. Colors like this out of a can (for me anyway) are not the most friendly as they are easy to have run or be splotchy. Constantly shake it and lots of very, very thin coats. It does not take lots of $ to pull off a good build on these. A good hobby knife, sandpaper, and patience is needed more than anything. Look forward to seeing lots posts as you progress on this thing! Lots of guys here eager and willing to help if something does not seem to be going right. Peace
