curt raitz Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Inspiration to build this model comes from Salt Flat Racers being a theme at this years NNL West and not having built a motorcycle in awhile. Came across a couple of photos of Peter Breede and his Yamaha. Used the engine, exhaust, front tree, wheels and tires from the 1/12th Gunze Sangyo Yamaha Clubman Racer kit. The engine and parts are solid chunks of white metal, so decided to build the frame in brass. Was pleasantly surprised how easy working with brass can be. Being as though Peter's bike only had a small rear drum brake and the Clubman racer had drum brakes front and rear, I laced both the kit front and rear wheels using scratch-built hubs. Here's the finished model, ready for the NNL West... thanx for looking'... Edited January 13, 2015 by curt raitz
