cobraman Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) This is our old friend the AMT Studebaker. She is a tired old gal and will need a lot of clean up. Will be done salt lake style as I am on a salt lake kick right now. Edited January 23, 2015 by cobraman
B-Ram Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Hey Ray, I've got one of these going also. Although mine won't be anywhere as good as yours. I will be watching with great interest. Bill
cobraman Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Don't believe that Bill, I have been screwing stuff up left and right lately.
cobraman Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Bill, I just looked in on yours and hope mine will be as good as yours.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Kool. Love a Loewy Stude on the salt, or anywhere.
Monty Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Kool. Love a Loewy Stude on the salt, or anywhere. Everybody loves Raymond...and his Loewy riders. I figured someone like you would also be an Avanti freak.
10thumbs Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Hi Ray, that's a cool car, I really like the body style, and it's made for high speed. Go for it!
cobraman Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Got to spend some time with this build today. I got the body pretty much all molded and primed and ready for paint. I think I will go with yellow. Spent almost two hours cleaning up the parts today. There is a lot of flash on some of these parts.
B-Ram Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Looking great. You sure work fast. I agree, there is a lot of flash. Bill
cobraman Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Thanks a lot guys. Only about another hour of parts cleaning I think. The suspension parts on my kit are more flash that parts. : )
cobraman Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Started doing a little more on this one. I put it aside and began working on a Avanti. Painted this one with enamel so it is taking a while to dry. Just did a mock up to see how it is going to sit and look. Overall I am pretty happy with it so far. I do have a habit of screwing up something in the final assembly so........................... we shall see.
cobraman Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Thank you. I forgot how darn long it takes for that enamel to dry. : )
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Are the headlight covers part of the kit?
slusher Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Thank you. I forgot how darn long it takes for that enamel to dry. : ) Great shade of yellow Ray. What brand did you use? I would let enamel sit at least a week....
10thumbs Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Ray, that's fine looking paint! How can you stand waiting so long for paint to dry? I'd go nuts. Michael
