slusher Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 The Seafire XV Seafire Got its name from the "Sea Spitfire" The land based Spitfire was modified With a tail hook added and folding wings, so it could be flown from and Onto carriers at sea. What A project! Beautiful aircraft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TneYPcyGbbY%26autoplay=1%26rel=0
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Thanks Carl. Seeing that made my day. Every other Seafire I've ever seen has been a bubble-canopy type. I wasn't even aware a razorback model was built. Great stuff.
Snake45 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I have two of the old Hobbycraft Seafire XV kits. One I'm going to convert to the sexier (IMHO) bubbletop Seafire XVII (basically the same aircraft with a bubble canopy) and the other is getting converted to a Spitfire XII. Now, let's see who here knows Spitfires. What do the Spit XII and the Seafire XV and XVII have in common with each other but not with any other marque of Spitfire?
slusher Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Thanks so much guys for the comments. I enjoyed it and thought fellow builders and friends would enjoy it....
