Couple years ago I bought a very nice resin repro of the MPC '68 GTO promo body off eBay. Any idea who made it, and if it's still available?

I don't think so. The one I bought is repopped from a promo, with the hood solid in it. That one's nice, though.

Was the eBay seller in TN?

I don't remember. I'll have to see if the original mailing label is on the box it came in, where it still lives. (Probably not.)

Just took a look. No markings on the box, nor on the body nor the plastic bags inside.

It's VERY cleanly molded in a white/offwhite resin, and came with a (unplated) rear bumper and grille insert, and clear red taillights. Everything you need to "convert" a common AMT/MPC '72 GTO to a '68, provided you don't mind a '72 interior in it. (I'll have to see what '68 gut parts Modelhaus has.)

I'll be painting it Verdoro Green, of course. B)

I do know Shawn Carpenter made a beautiful '68 GTO Conversion kit . It is a Ragtop . The Interior and Boot are part of the Package . IIRC ;Chassis / wheels / tires / Engine and Transmission / Windshield are lacking . Has the : "Rubber Baby Bumper" molded in and a Separate Hood . I checked his site last year , it was still offered . Thanx ..

This might be a dumb question... But what's wrong with Monogram (Or nowadays Revell) '68 GTO body? I have two of them and they look very good to me.

It's not a bad kit--I've built one. But it's 1/24 and looks oversize with the rest of my 1/25 GTO models, that's all.

Oh, now I understand the problem.

Personally I don't see a difference between 1/24 and 1/25 (I know I have a bad eye for this kind of stuff), but many other people do :) .

Ordinarily I try not to care about that, too. But when you have 1/25 models of GTO from '64 to '72 lined up together, and the '68 (or '69) is bigger than the rest, it kind of stands out.

I HAVE my 1/25 GTO body. But I know someone else wanting one, and was just wondering if I could give him the source. As I said, I bought if off eBay and have no idea who actually made it. Whoever did it, it's very nice indeed.
