1) Will a windshield from a `63 Falcon fit a `61? Modelhaus offers a replacement glass set for a `63 Falcon and I need "glass" for a resin `61 I picked up…..

2) What kit has these wheels?

I need a scale set in 15" X 6" and 15" X 10"…… with tires for those rears.

See where I'm going with this? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes. In the real world, some manufacturers list the '63-'65 windshield as being a different part from the '60-'62, but it's been my experience that they all interchange, like zo (from Glassrack.net):

"This is a BRAND NEW WINDSHIELD GLASS fitting:

FORD FALCON 2 DOOR COUPE 1961-1965

FORD FALCON 2 DOOR SEDAN 1961-1965

FORD FALCON 2 DOOR STATION WAGON 1961-1965

FORD FALCON 4 DOOR SEDAN 1961-1965

FORD FALCON 4 DOOR STATON WAGON 1961-1965"

As all the first-generation Falcon kits are based on the AMT '60, you should be good to go, though thickness of the resin may be an issue.

I just wanted to make sure the contours will be OK. I can handle the resin and the actual opening. I just don't have the means ( or desire….) to start vacuum forming "glass". I had looked at a few 1:1 reference sites and saw the aftermarket windshields fitting 60-65 too. Just wanted to make sure. For $3.50 I'll roll the dice. Thanks for replying!

Now about those wheels and tires…..

You can find the Weld Lite's in the latest issue of the Monogram Reher-Morrison Camaro. There were other Monogram pro stock kits with those wheels. But, that's the latest issued kit and the easiest to find. Another option for a windshield would be one from a Ranchero. I built a resin '61 Falcon some time ago and the vacuum formed windshield wouldn't fit. I don't know who the caster was. But, I'm sure it wasn't from Modelhaus. The problem with vacuum formed windshields is they are formed over an original and can sometimes be too big for the opening. The rear vacuum formed window for my '61 Falcon didn't fit well at all. But, it was all I had. I'm thinking I may have a decent set of Weld Lite's. I'll check for you and let you know.

I think something close was included in an MPC Datsun pickup kit. http://www.oldmodelkits.com/index.php?detail=9540&page=82

I have both the glass for the Falcon from Modelhaus, and from Bandit Resin. INMO the Bandit glass was a better molded easier to fit piece, and would recommend Bandit, over the Modelhaus for this instance.

The '63 Falcon kit was a snap-together convertible; different windshield (lower) than the sedan unit. The Ranchero piece will fit.

Thanks Mark. I figured there was a year-specific reason.

I tried to navigate Bandit's site. I got a headache….. Is it me, or are there more dead than working links? I'll contact Modelhaus later today…..

As for the wheels, I found a set of the R-M wheels but there's too many holes. I have until April 1st. to get this one in a display case. <sigh…..> This is a bad build season for me.

How many holes do the R-M wheels have? I have the Frank Iaconio P/S Camaro which is basically the same kit with different decals and it has the Weld Drag Lite's with eight holes.

If the wheels you're after are the Drag Lites, they should have eight holes in them. These are the same wheels that comes in the Frank Iaconio Camaro, Ricky Smith STP Firebird and Bob Glidden 7-11 T-Bird.

I typed 7, but yes those are the 8 spoke wheels I need. Thanks for the info on what kit they're in.

And I'll drop Bandit a line.

Thanks everyone for your input. I appreciate the help!

unfortunately, those rims may be too deep for 15x10. I know someone makes them, but I tried a few sites and cannot come up with them. you may have no other choice. you may be able to cur the back of the rom off. there is a lot of extra plastic on the backs of these to fit the slicks. ill keep thinking....
