guitarsam326 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 finally got some color laid down, it was my first time using the airbrush on a large area laying color and I had some "dry" areas. those spots don't really matter because it will all get the filthy treatment followed by some dullcoat. also got some paint on the Detroit as well as some weathering.

guitarsam326 Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 Thanks Clayton, im really pleased at how the wiring came out compared to my other builds, and yeah, if a Detroit ain't leakin it cuz there ain't nothing in it! Thanks Terry, I like the Detroits simply for the sound (I know it doesn't make a hill of beans as far as plastic goes but whatever!), and although I haven't had the chance to work on one, I know they were a better engine than that piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH corn binder that comes with the kit so why not swap right?

I got the Detroit installed, probably the easiest engine swap I've done so far. the exhaust came out pretty good, I left it a single pipe exhaust because its just a work truck and i'm a plain jane kinda guy.....well that and it was waaaaaayyyy easier! im thinking about using AITM's five hole front floats but I haven't ordered any yet. Also scored some working chain binders from KFS out of a trade. got the fuel tanks painted, one will probably end up being a hydraulic tank....... by the way has anyone scratch built a trans mounted pto, or know a good source for one?

It's not super hard with good ref photos. I've also bought some from Ben Wicker, and robbed one from the First Gear B model Mack wrecker. The paystar is looking great Sam! This will be you best build as of yet.

Gator- I like opening doors because most of us spend so much time trying to make our interiors look good, only to box them in when its all said and done. There's so much to see on the interior and what better way than crackin the doors open? Thanks for all the compliments guys!
