JollySipper Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Hey, fellas... I was wondering what would be the best source for a set of open-holed artillery wheels, like you find on a lot of customs. If it's Modelhaus, would anyone have a pic? Thanks in advance!
my66s55 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Replicas and Miniatures has a nice set. The Revell / Monogram 37 panel delivery also has a set.
Bernard Kron Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The nicest ones I've found (although I haven't seen RepMin's version which are no doubt as nice as anything out there like everything else Norm does) are from the Divco style or Mil Truck wheels Modelhaus. The have various versions and can be found here: http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=0&p=69897 http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=0&p=69898 http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=0&p=70131 I've used them in the past and they look like this: They also make a set more like the RepMin wheels ('37 Ford?) that can be found here: http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=0&p=69896
JollySipper Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Thanks for the info, guys, and nice builds Bernard! I just looked at pics of the '37 Panel truck and it appears to have just what I was looking for! Thanks again.........!
JTalmage Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The parts box of Australia also has a similar set
JollySipper Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 How about "beauty bands" or trim rings? The '37 panel seems to have large diameter wheels, I'm hoping maybe there is a kit with a trim ring that will fit? Thanks again..........!

With only a 6" wide rim, those tires and wheels look a lot larger in comparison to say, a more modern 15" wheel than they really are. Art
