Mopeyguy Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Here is my 1sr posted build of a 1994 F-150 Lightining. Pro-Toured style, Fords ain't my favorite make but I do love Pro-Toured styled short box trucks. Biggest challenge is lowering theI-beam front end. Couldn't decide on an engine, factorish 351 Windsor style H.O., Boss 429, new style 2010 Stang supercharged DOHC engine. For rims-tires I think im going with the 90's Nascar riims as pictured. Truck will be painted a very dark green, Dragon Green is the actual color name... We will see how this turns out,,, Dare to be Different...
Matt T. Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I like it. Rob the front frame clip from that NASCAR kit to get the nose down in the weeds. Pro Tour!
Mopeyguy Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 Yea Matt Thanks,,, I had thought about using the front clip from one of my nascar kits but I don't want to go to krazy with this build. Keeping this one pretty simple. But it will work out to be a decent ride when completed...
Mopeyguy Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 It's a bit cold today so stayed in and removed the molding's and script's off of the body with a bit of filing and sanding. Filled in one of the dual tank door's too. As per what I usually do I let the putty, and primers dry for a least a week. While drying we will work on widening the Tub's for the box and finish dropping the suspension...
Custom Mike Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I've been down that road before Chuck, I built a replica of my wife's old F-150 XL last year and did the same thing, I also removed all the wheel well trim too, that was fun! Have you thought about opening up the grille on this one? I did it on hers, and it makes a huge difference in the finished build! I'm planning on doing the same thing to the short-box I have, but at the pace I build at, it's gonna be a few years from now at least!
chunkypeanutbutter Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Definitely open the grille. Ten minutes of your time, and ten times better look.
MsDano85gt Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Definitely open the grille. Ten minutes of your time, and ten times better look. AMEN!! that goes for a few other amt grilles on other kits too!! Definitely open the grille. Ten minutes of your time, and ten times better look. AMEN!! that goes for a few other amt grilles on other kits too!!
mustang1989 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 This is enough to make anybody wanna stay inside!!! Where do you paint at anyways?
freakshow12 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 It's winterpeg, that's pretty warm for there actually lol.
Custom Mike Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Chuck, not that I'm being pushy or anything...DO IT!!!!!! It really makes this kit look good!
slusher Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Real nice looking engine. Nascar wheels will look good. This may get moved to the truck section ...
sjordan2 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Looks like a really good start. The seats look very realistic. PS: just a little forewarning... If you can't find this thread shortly, that means one of the moderators will have moved it into the Trucks section.
