Nick definitely gave one of the most basic of our painting rules, but Wet Look Clear is so good. IMO, that I would do a test on a scrap body or spoon to really see if the particular enamel reacted to Wet Look. I don't believe Wet Look is a particularly high lacquer paint .. meaning it doesn't seem to act like an auto lacquer .. like it has a lower lacquer content. Anyway, I really like Wet Look and was planning to use over an acrylic .. after a test.

It's lacquer but it's very mild. You might want to lay a mist coat on first, before a wet coat.

I can't remember if I've specifically used the Wet Look Clear over enamels, but I've used many of the other Testor/Model Master lacquers over enamels with no problems. I wouldn't hesitate to at least try it on a test spoon. I THINK you can prolly get away with it, if you're careful.

I agree with what Foxer and Snake said. The Model Master/Testors lacquers are not nearly as hot as other brands. I've shot them over enamels many times with no issues. It's always safer to test it out on a spoon first though.

I have used Testors clear lacquers over almost everything with no ill affect ( other than cracking problems with multiple body coats) I've even shot it over acrylic craft paints that I've used for detailing. So as far as using it over enamel, I wouldn't worry too much about it. As a matter of fact, I'm going to use it over an enamel painted interior tonight. Steve
