tomsheehy Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Man, that's one way to skin a goat! Superb
Guest Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Sharp looking Judge Steve! The color, wheels and tires really set it off. Nice work!
Snake45 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 i was just looking at that kit at hobby lobby one left figured it would have been marked down farther than 8 bucks by now...... so it can be converted to a regular car instead of funny car.... hmmmm Yup. The body is basically a promo body, with all the stock trim intact. The version I bought (Model King, I think) even has the Judge decals in a couple different colors. The Judge spoiler is present, too.
Can-Con Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Thanks again everyone. Just want to add that the engine and rad wall stuff is from the Monogram '69 GTO as are the centers of the wheels. The rims are from the Monogram '91 [ish?] Corvette ZR1 turned backwards with the centers dremelled out. Snake's right about the Model King issue having stock decals, thats the kit I used. The rear wing isn't exactly stock though. It's the 3 piece thing that's been in all the reissues of the MPC '70 and '72 GTOs Kind of a custom piece. I put together and made the 2 supports from scratch and kinda waffled on using it but decided to put it on a couple weeks ago. Edited February 27, 2015 by Can-Con

The70judgeman Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Great looking goat! Since nobody asked and you didn't say...yet. What blue is that? And what brand? It's a great shade of blue. I love it!

I love it! It's Ford royal blue they used a few years ago. A good friend of mine is the manager at the body shop of a local Ford dealer, he brought me a bunch of partly full touch-up bottles with some leftover paints from jobs they had done. This is one of them. I figured it looked pretty close to '69 Pontiac liberty blue.
TFchronos Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Super nice build, love these GTO's. Beautiful color too, very nicely done.
Mike 1017 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 This is one good looking GTO.The tinted windshield is a nice touch
