Whoa...am I reading that ...2 years ago !?!

Anyway I decided to just go for it and this happened,....

Duplicolor sandable black primer, followed by Tamiya TS-55, then wet sanded 800, 1000, 2000g

Going into second coat... Wish me luck

Hey Bruce, I'm awaitin' on your update.  I said a long time ago how much I always loved that particular F1 car and can't wait to see you finish it.  You've done an outstanding job for sure.  Cheers, Tim

Sadly, I am not

Awaiting further reports of succes from the East Coast B)

Doesn’t your weather go from -20 and blowing to +30 with 99% humidity with a week of spring flooding in between?? :D

I will try the Tamiya decanted unless I find a better midnight blue

Seems like weather really effect the paint curing process....

I never experience it since i live on tropical area....

When the weather goes bad.... did the paint not cure?

It's starting to look like old polished fiberglass gelcoat, i think,..

I also made a start on the decals,..They are in excellent shape, and take MicroSol and MicroSet....Whew...(huge load off my mind)

Tim, Lee, Mark, Lloyd, Thank you very much for the feedback, it's encouraging,.... at this point....

So I laid on one of the swooshes, and I gotta say this is just not doing anything for me..

Qn08W2e.jpg

That one decal took me 4 hours of manipulation and a 4 coats of MICRO SOL.

It's got a matte finish to it, and I am not clearing these panels...

Silvering took place under the "clear" portion, and when I try to set them flat, the "clear" tore away

So, I am now thinking... Scan the decal sheet,.. Make a mask,.. Spray Tamiya X-12, ....

I'll keep detailing while I think about this one...Cheers
