His guarantee, they would run 11.50's at 120 mph in the quarter mile. As time permits, and as I take a break from building WW II airplane's, my plan is to build a number of cool Baldwin Motion cars, such as the 1967 Ko-Motion L88 Corvette, the first 1967 SS427 Chevelle, a 1968 SS427 Camaro, a couple of 1969 Phase III SS427 Camaros, a 1969 Phase III SS427 Corvette, a 1969 Phase SS427 Nova, a 1969 SS427 Chevelle, a 1970 Phase III Chevelle, and a 1970 Phase III Camaro. johnwitzke Posted May 14, 2014 Author Share Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) My Baldwin Motion collection will begin with the only 1967 Chevelle SS427 produced by Motion Performance. This car was originally ordered new by Charlie Mason. This build will start with using the Revell 1967 Chevelle SS396 kit. Scalefinishes Marina Blue paint will be used for the exterior and interior. The car will have a black vinyl top. Several photo etch and resin parts have been sourced in order to complete an accurate build when the car was new. Some of parts are Torque Thrust Wheels, Redline Tires, M/T finned valve covers (low gloss), valve cover wing bolts, Mallory ignition coil, photo etch under dash gauges (two originally located on the left side of the steering column), column mount tach, Hurst T-Handle shifter, and photo etch SS427 for the rear panel. I plan on scratch building the custom steering wheel. I am getting ready to begin this one and will post pictures as this project moves along. Ron Hamilton Posted January 21, 2015 Share Posted January 21, 2015 John, I cannot wait to see any progress on this topic. As a rabid teenager, I could only dream of acquiring a Balwin-Motion Car. Unfortunately, living in Washington, DC, the insurance would have been horrendous, as well as the cost of upkeep for such a beast. However, with palstic and resin kits, reality is as easy as a 1/25 scale kit. When I was doing this car, I remembered that Balwin-Motion marketed the '69 Biscayne, as well as the Impala SS427 as part of their program. as well as the Impala SS427 Maybe we can have a Baldwin-Motion car build-off.
