Shardik
Got into lutherie as a hobby, which morphed into a part time business. I also collect Musical instruments from around the world and 18th and 19th century woodworking tools; other collectors hate me because I refurbish and use them! I do some landscape photography, which means a lot of hiking as well. The rest of my time is spent with my tarantulas; Audrey and Lasciel. Ognib
That is the fun part. People who have hobbies are smart, creative and interesting folks. They have to understand things around them, and dig into learning deep into subjects just out of their natural curiosity. They spend time studying, learning and creating things. That's why we stand apart from the herd that is satisfied with a life of watching TV. Very well said, sir.
Ognib
I've been building guitars for going on 15 yrs. This is a hand carved archtop jazz box I scratch built. Body sides, back & neck are mahogany. Worked on it for about 1 1/2 yrs. Top is sitka spruce with maccasar ebony fingerboard, bridge & tailpiece.

charlie8575
I have many hobbies . One being enjoying some of the sometimes amusing comments I see here ! Here, here! In addition to that... Cars, trains, photography (real photography with film), architecture, woodworking, drawing, history, my activity with the Masons, cooking, reading, and listening to music (my friends who were in chorus and band in high school will be all too happy to tell you that I should not be allowed to do any performing). Starting a business has become a hobby/obsession, as well as continuing my education, both formal (i.e., school, classes, etc.) and informal (i.e., a student of life, self-directed learning, etc.) Charlie Larkin Edited May 1, 2013 by charlie8575

As opposed to digital photography, which is just a figment of the imagination? Maybe a better description would be "photography using obsolete methods!"
