HauntFreaks Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I drag race 1/24 - 1/25 slot car and love using model and resin kits... this is one of my latest builds.... I started out with this snap-tite kit... I picked up some tube styrene to make the turbos and intake tubes... next I cut the hood to make way for the turbos, intake and exhaust... heres the parts mocked up on the body... now for the pro-mod wing... here is the exhaust mocked up... thru some paint on it...
HauntFreaks Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 this is the chassis I built for it... body on chassis.... ready to hit the drag strip thanks for lookin....
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 That's cool! Did you use Testors Inca Gold?
HauntFreaks Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 That's cool! Did you use Testors Inca Gold? thanks.... no it's auto-air pearl cooper
HauntFreaks Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 thank you, ... to date I believe this is my best build... it looks fast, but has been geared to be slow...
george 53 Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 HoooooWeee, that's definately one MEAN lookin sucker! Too bad the 09 Camaro is such an UGLY CAR! You sure did a heckava job on it though, GREAT paint job,an I really like the idea, you'd never guess it was a snapper!!!
Sixties Sam Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Wow! That's a beauty! I haven't looked at slot cars in years (make that decades!). I never saw any that well finished and detailed. Very nice! Did you scratch build the chassis? Excellent work! Sam
HauntFreaks Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Sam the chassis is laser cut stainless steel and music wire silver soldered together....
chevy man Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 this is the chassis I built for it... body on chassis.... ready to hit the drag strip thanks for lookin.... that is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddd man how did you make the turbos?
MitchP Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Wow! SIXX was turning me on to a blower/hat combo with that raked look all the blown pro-mods are going for, but this looks SOOOOO much like Annette "Pink" Summers' 'Vette that runs 6's at 240+ during the annual Orlando Fastest Street Car shootout it's crazy. I'm so new at this but unafraid to try anything. I've seen resin turbos for 1/25 scale and the cooler box looks pretty simple to construct. I wonder if this would also be an option for my Revell '55 Chevy Streetburner top sportsman build I'm eyeing for next spring. So many decisions...
1930fordpickup Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 The colors are fantastic . It would be hard to see to drive , but it is only a quarter of a mile at a time.
Skydime Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 very nice. i am amazed how much longer the car looks just by making a diagonal/horizontal cut along the bottom.
