Topics I've Started

2010 challenger R/T -Revell

25 August 2014 - 01:07 PM

I used the majority of the revell 2009 Srt Challenger to recreate a 2010 RT model. The "R/T" stripes are from the amt kit. I replaced the kit motor with a 5.7 v8 from a chrysler 300. I opened and hinged the drivers door as best as I could, remind me not to do that again.  Paint is tamiya met. blue which is close but just a little bit darker than the factor B5 blue. I detailed the interior, but in a rush to assemble didnt take any pictures. the center console has carbon fiber decals attached to the cup holders and chrome on the ear shift like the 1:1.

1990 Mustang 5.0 Kentucky State Police

08 August 2014 - 02:50 PM

KSP like many  police agencies across the nation owned a few of these "Special Service Package"  cars the early 90's for speed enforcement. Heres my version. I scratch built a roll bar like KSP had in their cars and added strobe lights to the rear package shelf and roof. the front windshield has a scratch build strobe light onthe top of the passenger side that is barely visable. I added a few details to the interior.

Grabber Green 70 Boss 302

27 July 2014 - 06:12 PM

I built this one totally box stock. Paint is model master Grabber green with testors wet look clear. This was my first time polishing a model with a polishing kit and I think it turned out decent, besides a couple spots where i sanded through. I forgot the flat black strip of paint on the hood, ill get back to it at some point.

Polishing, With or Without Clear coat

01 July 2014 - 07:23 PM

Ive been painting models for years now and am usually satisfied with simply clearing after my final coat and calling it done. Now I want to try a polishing kit, (the various sandpaper grits followed by rubbing compound / polish) . My question is, are yall seeing better results as far as quality / gloss of the finish when you polish with a clear coat applied over your color coat or should I just polish the color coat without applying clear?

2002 Camaro SS - sunset orange

24 June 2014 - 09:05 PM

Box Stock Revell Kit with the exception of Wheels & Tires from a Vette and I changed the exhaust and added tips. Paint is Testors "Toxic Orange" over black with their wet look clear. The Toxic orange is a close match to the factory "Sunset Orange" . Interior is 2 tone black and grey.
