MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. That a tad over my head, Len. I would not want to put that stuff in my $180 airbrush. Catalyzed paint? πŸ₯Ί. Scarey. Am I being silly? Don't answer that 😞.
  2. Oh yeah! Get some foil on it! Very, very nice, Jim. Awesome color and we gotta see it in the sun when you're finished πŸ‘Œ. (I live for the "polish-out", it's the best part πŸ˜›.)
  3. She looks terrific, Greg. Tell me you're not glad it's over. πŸ₯΄
  4. What type of paint are they selling ? I'm considering getting some MCW enamels in basic colors like flat black and gloss red and white, etc., you know for detail brush work. I'm just an old Testors enamel guy and can't think outside that box πŸ˜•. I bought a rattle can of Humbrol enamel "varnish" in clear flat. It smells kinda funny. Paint-wise, I feel a bit lost 🫀
  5. It sounds like more work than I want to do for a paint job, Len.... I dunno. πŸ€” Could be laziness creeping up on me. 😴
  6. Hey, Len, I just read back (to see what I can't remember) and I have a question about the use of the opaque - was that used as a base because the "wicked" is translucent? Also did you use Tamiya primer as a final before color? I hope I'm not being a PITA about this πŸ₯΄.
  7. I hope I can remember this information when I finally get around to using the stuff. Good info, Greg. πŸ‘ I may be too impatient to use it, Lenny, but this is more good info for me if I ever do. How many coats did you apply on the coupe? (I don't remember if you already said πŸ’©)
  8. Mine is probably 6 or so years old, I think...( I procrastinate a little πŸ€“).
  9. I like it, Len. Very interested in the Createx paint. I have a bunch of it that might be cured in the bottles by now πŸ’©. I need to check that πŸ˜•. Anyway, the coupe looks super!
  10. I can't add anything different than what everybody else has already said so....Ditto! Great job, David, I enjoyed watching this one. πŸ‘
  11. Yeah, the fan.....what about a Flex-a-Lite? Do they go back that far?
  12. YES SIR! That looks fantastic, Greg!
  13. Sometimes hitting "the easy button" is the best choice. I have actual scar tissue on my right index finger from doing that. Plant shopping. Uhh.........nope. I'm not gonna say anything😞
  14. Oh, and yeah....it does look great, Greg. The thing you did with the cowl vent is genius. Well done. The windshield rubber is a great idea too. Can't wait to see this one done. You could use MCG or Detail Master wipers if your dexterity is still up to par (mine isn't so great these days πŸ₯΄).
  15. Good God, man....I am so done with my '41 and I know what you are going through. I see mine sitting there every day and I just avoid thinking about it. It's just one of those things. I have moved on. Greg, I hope you can bring yours to some sort of closure. Good luck. Edit: I really like that painting fixture you made. Great idea!
