The Official EBay Discussion Thread
Brutalform replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yea. I don’t get it either. I can’t break down and buy a $300 bottle of Scotch, when the $80 one will do me fine. In the end, it’s just a plastic model kit. -

It’s amazing of all the BS you have to go through today, just not to get ripped off. I have my credit with the three bureaus frozen. Not answering any calls you receive is important now more than ever. If the number isn’t in my contacts, the call is silenced, and deleted. I know some people like to play games with these scammers on the phone, but the idea is, to keep them thinking your number is inactive. So if you answer a call, that isn’t in your contacts, you just gave the scammer the first piece of info they need to continue to get more info. Going to definitely add the extra safeguards explained in the video as well.

Thanks Bill. I just requested combined shipping from that seller. Didn’t you use the bench seat from Harts on your white Belvedere build? -

Thank you for your help John. I appreciate it. Interior looks fantastic. -
I’ve been checking it, almost, daily. I sure hope he gets it back up.

67 Plymouth Belvedere question.
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I just realized the 70 RR is 1/24 scale. If the seats look good enough, might be a bit too large to use. -
Man, that’s such a tiny little lens. Nice work.

67 Plymouth Belvedere question.
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I’m thinking it could be more correct than the one that’s available from Harts. But the Harts bench seats will match the rear seat that’s in the Revell GTX kit. I don’t mind removing and grafting a more correct looking rear seat to make a Belvedere. I’m going to have to take a look in my stash to see if I have a RR seat. I might get lucky and find a front and rear. -
67 Plymouth Belvedere question.

Not off topic at all. And thank you for replying and sharing the pics. I have seen a few in my searches that did not have the molding as well. A few were the GTX version, and if I am correct, would not have it. I’m planning a build converting a GTX into a plain Jane Belvedere RO23. I hope to find bench seats from a supplier. Maybe Harts Parts? At least the kit body has the sail panel moldings cast in it already. -

Thank you sir. I was hoping I could just go with plain chrome. -
Can anyone tell me if the side molding that travels the length of the car, all have a red strip in it? Or were there other colors available?

Being thankful for this forum.....

I was absent from Facebook for years. Then I decided to get back on it, pretty much for the model pages on it. Now I’m off again, pretty much because of the model pages on it. A person on FB asked why his Krylon paint was giving him fits, and I suggested using paint formulated for styrene. And you’d swear I killed someone’s first born child! Yea. Life is too short for that stuff. This community is by far the best thing I’ve ever had the opportunity to be part of. Some pretty intelligent members on here that are always glad to help when you run into a build or paint problem while building your next show car. -
A very good eye for details. Fantastic work.

I have a 2012 Focus as my everyday, beater car. I got it for free from a relative that passed on, so it doesn’t owe me anything. I put 25,000 miles on it since I had it, and now it has over 70,000. The auto trans has some clutch shudder, and I did re set the trans, and it seemed to perform much better. This year is apparent the worst for the transmission, being “sealed” and no way to service. I’m hoping I can get another year out of it. Too bad, because other wise, it’s a great running little car. It keeps mileage off my good car, so I’ll be sad to see it go.

An awb 65 Dodge hardtop converted to a sedan
Brutalform replied to R. Thorne's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Nice project going on here, with the sedan conversion. That seller on eBay has some nice grills. I bought a couple of those for a few of my cars. -
The engine is looking killer so far. I like what you did with the timing cover. Looks real! I’ll be following along with your build. If it turns out half as nice as your other builds, it will be a show stopper for sure.

Having around eight builds going on at the same time is kind of the norm for me. But, the few that are put away, to be honest, I really don’t know why I haven’t pulled them out, to work on, or finish. Usually, if I’m just not feeling it, I most likely will not work on it. I suppose it’s the same reason, when I get an idea to build a particular car, go and purchase the kit, and get stuff together, and not start it for a while. Which we all know, contributes to a big stash. Now you got me thinking about pulling a few of those stored builds out, when I clear my bench of the eight I’m working on. My Mel Burns 1963 Ford 300 427 is almost ready for paint and final assembly. I need a decent front bench seat. I guess that’s why it is just sitting in storage.

I was following your build thread on this car. I still can’t get over how fantastic everything looks on this car. That interior, with the black floor looks dead on perfect. Even as a curbside, this is one spectacular build.

Nissan, I can say has been keeping their customers at their dealerships for years. I can’t speak of other manufacturers, as I’ve only owed Nissan in the last two decades for my everyday driver. I’ve never been able to buy a part at the auto store, as it’s always a “dealer only” item, sending me to the dealership to buy a specific part. What’s bad about this is they are taking away all other options from us to decide who and where we want our vehicles repaired. I can still preform most work on my cars, as my health will allow. Saving me dollars, but sadly, this will end too.
