  1. Here are some other pics of current progress and machined parts I have done thus far...
  2. I actually just requested the thread be moved. I used to post on here alot but I am a little rusty. I use Rustoleum "Textured" for the Line-X and after paint it really takes on a colormatched Line-X look.
  3. This is a project I am doing with my father to get him back into the hobby after 30 plus years away. He built big scale as a kid and wanted to try one now. I have been showing him some new techniques and instructing him as we go. We started the afternoon of Thanksgiving by getting the frame into a jig.... and have now made it to this...... I have been machining some detail parts for him. I did a Joe Hunt Magneto, Pulleys, Generator front, Moon Water Neck temp Gauge, and a starter. I also have shown him how to cut out the grill and helped him make a screen insert. We've used RB Motion bolt head details throughout, rod ends to make carb linkage for the Strombergs, we scratchbuilt a scoop and three screens for the carbs, scratchbuilt an electric fan setup, machined a set of round case magnaflows, fuel filter and frame mounted fuel pump, and the color is One Shot Lacquer "Inca Gold" under 5 coats of clear. I will be updating the post as we get further along...
  4. Below are some early pics of my current build, a 1977 GMC Pickup utilizing the Revell kit. I am going for the big diameter wheel airbagged look, popular in 1:1 similar to this..... This required scratch building a "raised floor" configuration inner bed structure and the kits original one was terrible anyway. This is done in 1:1 trucks to clear the frame modifications and air ride, fuel tank etc. when running large diameter wheels and alot of drop... Its about half as deep as seen in this picture... I then made fender wells styled after the factory ones only larger... Then hit the entire assembly with some texture that will leave it looking like a colormatched Line-X after painted with the remaining truck components... This allowed the truck to sit like this with scale 24"/26" wheels.... I also used the same styrene I used for the bed floor to make an inner tailgate panel that matches the ribs in the bed floor... Til next update........
  5. .I like the way they are very similar to the shape of the front wheel wells. It makes it look clean and planned. You have a very consistant radius....to me that's a nice look. If they were three sided or something else, it wouldn't look nearly as good. Great job!
  6. They're Pegasus Hobbies T's and their rear sleeves as well. I do a modification to the centers before I place them in the sleeves so they end up with a deeper offset. Thanks for the comments!
  7. Yep they are the same, and it would be an easy conversion. I have one that I have scribed the back door into but left the windows ( Flower Car). From what I under stand the panels for the delivery were added into the windows of a sedan and the door was cut out. I may be wrong, its been a while since I read about it. But I think thats why there were very few deliveries.
  8. I voted B-400...and I hope they hurry.....cause this one is about to drive me crazy.
  9. Very cool piece Hollywood! The radius job looks spot on. That's one thing that, if not done cleanly, can ruin things. You nailed it. They match the front very well. I'll be watching this.
  10. Here are some very early shots of my current project. Its a 1950 Oldsmobile Fastback conversion by Promolite. This is a super well made resin conversion body. Its very clean and plastic-like, as is all of his products. Its going to be a contemporary style car with 18"/20" wheels, triangulated four link, rear chassis mini-tubbed. The engine is still up in the air possibly a BBC or LS1. I'll try to keep this updated. These are just some early stance mockup shots during the chassis mods. I have since made the door glass one piece by eliminating the vent windows. The firewall has also been smoothed and flattened slightly. I'll try to update with more pics soon. Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day!
  11. I think this is a really cool build. I like the colors alot.
  12. I plan on doing some better pics once I get the coilovers made to the right length.
  13. Did some work on the rear triangulated four-link this week. Tough to see it right now with everything in styrene white.
  14. Nice build. The car looks great and the engine detail is phenominal for a conversion of this type. I too am a diehard carburetor V8 guy, and when I think Camaro waaaaaa sshh sshh isn't what I think but hey- thats what makes the world go round. I get comments over my low stance and big diameter wheels all the time. It's all good. When I do think of Camaros though, I think of this......lol
  15. Yes, Doug Cooper's car. I stopped by Johnson's while that car was in early stages. Its a masterpiece! Alan is a cool guy and his staff are nice guys as well.
  16. Here is my new project. Its a Replicas and Miniature of Maryland 32 Ford Vicky resin body that I added the soft top from a Flintstone B400 body. I know the B400 had a sedan type rear panel but I wanted to do one with a Vicky rear panel. Here is what I started with.... After some cutting and fitting I ended up with this....... Those are the tires it will be on and the stance it will have. I also did some initial chassis mods today. I added a tubular center section and notched the front crossmember to sit lower. Thanks for looking. I hope to take this one to Birmingham for the theme class.
  17. Thanks sake its actually Gobi beige
  18. A Maisto diecast. They put thos on several of their cars.
  19. Just finished this one today in time for the Cookeville, TN show tomorrow. Its a 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II 100 Sedan. Its Gobi Beige with Fawn interior. The chassis is from the AMT 66 Nova Pro Street and the interior is based off the AMT 66 Nova SS stock version. Wheels are Billet Specialties "Stiletto" from a die cast car. The engine is a Gold version of the Chevy Orange motor in my 1:1 64 SS. The exhaust and drive shaft is aluminum, engine is wired but in a semi hidden style this car would use in 1:1, Photoetch grille, and Keith Marks decals for the quarter panel and deck lid emblems. Thanks for looking! Hope to see some of you in Cookeville tomorrow!
  20. That is going to be super cool X! I have the Olympic Gold version in the early stages as well. I'll have to park mine away from yours in NC this year so I don't look bad.
