  1. I was stationed in Portsmouth, NH in the mid 1960s. There was a sporting goods store that had toys and models on the second floor. Right around the corner from my high school there was a small TV repair shop. They had one small shelving unit next to the counter that had about 20 car kits. You sometimes wonder how you managed to stumble upon these places.
  2. Just wondering if anyone has used Molotow Liquid Chrome Markers to touch up chrome. I ran into some the other day. They run about $11.69 so I don't want to get any if they don't work that well.
  3. I'm getting on in years and my modeling pace is pretty slow. Gave most of my kits to the grandsons. Kept a few and looking for a couple more which should be enough to keep me busy. Below are a few things I picked up over the years but no longer need. Please pm me if there is anything of interest. USA only please. 1965/66 AMT Mustang Fastback parts. I have 3 Mustang fastback bodies (don't know if they are 65 or 66) One is like new, one is pretty good but has some glue blobs on the headliner and underside of the trunk. Third one is fair it needs some minor paint removal and tail light panel needs sanding to remove glue buildup. Also 3 Mustang Fastback AWB bodies and two coupe bodies. Have interior, dash and seats for one fastback. Also about 25 bags of assorted parts most of which are for the AWB cars. MPC Pinto Pro Stock parts. Body, base chassis interior side panels, dash, firewall and radiator wall, hood and scoop, grille, head lights and tail lights and a few other assorted parts. Body is not bad, wipers removed and body poorly primed. Decal package Slixx Dick Brannan 427 Falcon and Bob Ford Mustang, Fred Cady Bob Fort 64 Fairlane Thunderbolt, Fred Cady Bob Ford 1964 Mustang Coupe A/FX, Slixx Dyno Don Pinto Pro Stock and Fred Cady Gas Ronda 1965 Mustang A/FX. Drag Racing Books Sox & Martin like new, Landy's Dodges like new, Drag Racing's Quarter Mile Warriors like new, Match Race Madness like new, Lost Drag Strips Volumes 1 & 2 both used but very good condition, Ohio George Montgomery inside good, covers banged up. WANTED Revell 1941 Willys latest version ( SWC-Mazmanian-Pittman), Melrose Missile 1965 Plymouth, Butch Leal 1965 Plymouth, Dyno Don, 1965 Comet. Maybe Tom McEwen Duster. If you have interest in anything please pm me and I'm sure we can work something out. I have attached a photo of the Mustang parts. I found the 3rd fastback body after I took the photo.
  4. Does any company make a semi gloss red paint either spray or brush?
  5. Just wondering if anyone has used SMP decals and what you thought of them.
  6. There was someone who made Ramchargers Demon decals to fit the Revell Tom McEwen Duster. I would like to obtain a set of these decals or info on how to order them.
  7. Looking for an unstarted Tom McEwen Duster. Have a MPC Dyno Cougar Funny Car to trade. Box is open, inner bag sealed.
  8. This was mentioned on the Dyno Don Facebook page as rumored to be in the works for 2019 along with Grumpy's 1972 Vega. Anyone hear anything on this?
  9. From the Don Nicholson Facebook page this is the box art for the Dyno Don 1965 Comet kit.
  10. At one time there were two Chucks making decals. Don't know which one made the Ramcharger decals. There were two different ones. One for the Revell Mc Ewen Duster and one for a resin body. They are very nice. Just in case you don't have it see if you can find the Fall 2013 issue of Elapsed Times Magazine. It has a great six page article on the restored car.
  11. I've never built a NASCAR model before. Somewhere I managed to acquire a couple of AMT thunderbirds so I thought I'd give in a try. I have a couple of quick questions. What year are the AMT T-Bird kits? Are all the engines aluminum in color? Am I correct to assume that NASCAR does not allow chrome rims? Lastly do you scuff up the tires like you would a drag slick or do you leave them as they are? Thank you in advance for any info.
  12. gtx6970 Don had two 1965 Comets. One was driven by Eddie Schartman. It had a 427 wedge and never had a tube axle. Don's car the red one was delivered with a 427 SOHC. When Don altered the wheelbase and added injectors he also added a tube axle. The Beswick car never had injectors. It was turned over to Paul Rossi in mid season and ran carbs.
  13. I would like to see some good injector stacks. The ones in the AMT parts pack look good but they are too skinny and not tall enough. Same with the ones by Parks. The stacks from Speed City Resin just don't look right.
  14. Thanks for the info. I think I am going to use the NASCAR T Bird engine. I am not all that comfortable working with resin.
