  1. So, my mom is having some serious problems with her. Being a type two diabetic and can't walk much doesn't help, either. Also being run over the shoulder by a 75 Impala back in 1998 has pretty much messed her back up. She hasn't been able to walk very far without the aid of her wheel chair. Now, she's telling my that her kidneys are failing. She's talking about death like it's casual conversation. Going over her funeral plans just as casually as if I were talking to a friend on facebook. I fear that I might not have my mom much longer and honestly, I wouldn't know what to do without her. She is the glue that's holding my life together right now. I'm scared that I might wake up one day and find her lifeless and I'm fighting back tears every time I think about it. I know this isn't really the place to be talking about this kind of stuff, but it makes me feel better getting it out.
  2. I actually found myself turning my head every time they turned. Flinched a couple of times, too
  3. Yeah. Try backing that thing up to a loading dock and we'll see how pretty that back end stays.
  4. Stupid dayshift at work. Constantly putting me an hour behind because they want to talk to the useless supervisor for twenty minutes and not doing their actual job. I get paid by production. So, when I go to my nightshift boss which is the director of operations, he tells me to quit whining. So I am losing money, I have a manager that doesn't want to be bothered, and to make things worse, our forklifts are old and really worn out. I had three tear up on me just this week alone. Dayshift lift drivers constantly on their cell phones. Lumpers that don't break pallets down. Is it that hard to break one layer down so I can fit the pallet into the bay that it goes in? So, I'm losing even more money because of that. And to top all of this off, I had a pretty interesting conversation with my boss today about our production. He basically told me that my production was lacking and that I needed to do better. I wanted to tell him that some people really need a high five in the face as well. But, I need this job until something better comes along. Can't win at all, I guess.
  5. Wait, Mobius has a wheel and tires set??? I need to order about a dozen of these!
  6. I would love to go, but I wouldn't have the time for that weekend. I have to have a colonoscopy done. I will be there for the April 5th show
  7. I had a case of limes fall off it's roller rack while restocking it. As I was putting the fallen case back into the rack, I pushed another case of limes off. Anybody that knows me can tell you that I have a really bad temper. By the time the second case fell, I was shouting and swearing as loud as I could. Not good when your bosses' office is ten feet away. To make things worse, I toppled a stack of pallets bringing them to the pallet area. So, might have a broken finger because I punched my forklift. Steel body. Didn't feel good, but I got my anger out and calmed down after a cigarette. The rest of the night was uneventful.
  8. Awesome! The trailer looks really good, too! If you don't mind me asking, what was your preferred method of assembling the trailer? For the life of me, I couldn't get the sides to fit. I cut the tabs off and tried to line them up a little bit at a time. Still, I had gaps and steps. Finally, after a fit of rage that I can relate to a pack of ravaging, howling dogs from down under, I gave it to my friend. You make it seem so easy.
  9. If you can find it, LA's totally awesome works wonders. It can usually be found at Dollar General. Strips chrome and all of the coating in less than an hour.
  10. With builds like those, I think you'll do just fine. Beautiful models, by the way.
  11. Back in September, we had an honest, up front meeting with our boss about our equipment situation. Now, we are using ten plus year old forklifts and they are pretty ragged out. Being jerry-rigged to keep from being replaced isn't doing us any favors. Last week, one of our lifts had the entire drive motor snap off it's mounts. This motor drives the lift. Without it, the lift is basically useless. Boss is saying that it will be about a month before it gets fixed. We also have another lift that's been in the shop since November. It won't get fixed until March. There are five lift drivers on our shift and there are only seven lifts to use. Two of them being back ups. If our primary lift goes down, then I'm screwed because our back ups are broken. The moral of this story is that you have to spend a little to earn a lot. But, they want to be cheap and piece something together instead of replacing old, tired, broken equipment. I'm irked for an entire week!
  12. Great start! I have this kit as well and I'll be following this build with great interest. What kind of paint did you use for the green? I like that color. RYAN.
  13. I got a nice letter from the IRS stating that I owe them more state taxes.
  14. I WANNA ROCK! YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! 95.1 the Fox.
  15. Rot in the underworld, governor. You killed my favorite character.
  16. I love what you are doing so far. Is there a website to where I can order these trailers? Thanks. RYAN.
  17. Those colors on that rig are awesome! I like what you are doing on the trailer, also!
  18. Sadly, that isn't too far from reality. I see so many of these ridiculous looking rims on some really nice looking cars. I call them clown cars. Sorry, not trying to criticize your model. You did a wonderful job and it did put a smile on my face. RYAN.
  19. Here in Montgomery, Al, there is a flea market with three levels. Literally thousands of booths. Well, one day after going to get car insurance, I decided to stop by. I looked around for a good couple of hours. I managed to find a Revell Mustang combo kit and I think it was an early 60's corvette. Was heading out the door when I found "the stash". Not really hidden, just hard to get to. I picked up a Lindberg Snark for $10, two Hasegawa F-104's for $12 each, an Academy CH-53 for either $35 of $40.( I can't remember), an Accurate miniatures TBF Avenger for $10, and a Hasegawa B-47 for $20. So, around $100 for eight models. I already sold the CH-53 as it was way out of my skill level and also the B-47 as I just wasn't ready to do all of that work to make it look good. But, it was still a pretty good haul.
  20. Head forklift operator at a foodservice distributor. I fill up the empty slots with pallets of product so that the order selector can fill his order. Tim, we're proud to say that 98% of our trailer fleet is Utility. Or at least I am. We had a shuttle driver fall asleep behind the wheel carrying two Utility trailers. Both overturned. Both are still operational. Keep up the good work. RYAN.
  21. I feel your pain. Barely two weeks after I got my then new Ford Ranger, I had a deer run into the side of my truck. The left rear panel has a nice big dent in it, now. Actually took the paint off. I was steaming mad because I had just bought the truck and it was in perfect shape. Not a scratch, and not a dent in sight.
