Drake69 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I hope I got this close. My only gripe with it is the "high-low" carb setup which messes up the hood alignment. Also, I wish I had done more homework before painting the intake manifold. It really needed to be the same hemi color.....
Jmaracing Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Nice job.. Thinking about building one myself!!
Drake69 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Thanks guys! Yeah, when I got the Chevy Van kit and saw that "For Sale" decal in the sheet, I knew I had to put that on strip styrene and seal it so it could be used over and over again. I wish we would see more decals like that, or something like dealer window sheets for new cars.
tubbs Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 hey Allen (nice name and correct spelling too) the cross ram manifolds are not the greatest in these kits, as you mentioned the "hi-low" thing. you can get a better cross ram in most AMT GTX, Road Runner or 70 super bee. or the lindburg ramchargers. not rivet counter correct, but at least the plane of the carbs will be the same. that's what I will be using on mine.really nice build. love these cars. you represented it well. I have plans to do one along with the cuda just like this. if your not happy with the one in the kit and you can't come up with one, give me shout.
Danno Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) Nice job. Did it sell? Edited May 19, 2015 by Danno
Drake69 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Nice job. Did it sell? Nah... it's still sitting next to my "General"....
Mr mopar Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Nice just the way they left the hurst factory.............. Cool!
theraif Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 i had a pic of them lined up from the hurst factory and you can see how out of wack the front ends were
Drake69 Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Thanks all! It sits high on my shelf as one of my favorites, and I plan on building another more like an actual drag car as soon as I get some good Fred Cady or Keith Marks decals for it. Appreciate it!
diymirage Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 nice I saw a real life one of these last weekend at "mopars at Martin"
gtx6970 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Nice. Just one problem The Hemi Darts did not have power brakes or a windshield washer reservoir.
