martinfan5 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Taking a look a newest Lambo kit from Aoshima, the Sesto Elemento , or ("Sixth Element" in English), the kit allows you to build either the prototype or the production version. Now, to accurately build this, the entire body needs to be done in carbon fiber , as the body is entirely made from carbon fiber, Scale Motor-sports is I do believe said to be doing a carbon fiber sheet for the body, and I am sure Studio 27 decals will be doing a C/F decal sheet as well.
Dragline Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) A must have for me...... Do we have a suggested retail on this? Edited April 6, 2016 by Dragline
Matt Bacon Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Excellent... mine's on the way! Don't get carried away with the carbon fibre. I've got a recent big coffee table book called "Lamborghini Supercars", with large, high quality studio photography, and the "weave" is barely visible. I think I'll paint mine in Zero Graphite grey, and then overspray through a very fine mesh with black before clear coating it. The overwhelming impression in the photos is slightly metallic grey, with just a hint of regular texture/pattern to it. No CF decal I've ever seen is subtle enough...bestest,M.
Mike Chernecki Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Look like another Aoshima Lamborghini to add to the list. For some close-ups of the car what the movie "Need for Speed", there is a Sesto Elemento in the race at the end of the movie. As Matt said the Carbon weave is not noticeable in photos, but it sure is noticeable in the movie.
GTJUNIOR Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Looks like a well designed kit. Should make for a very neat model to add to the collection.

I've gotta say, given what they do to the cars in that movie, that I'm not at all convinced that many of them are the real thing. According to the Wikipedia article, the Sesto Elemento, Veyron, Koenigseggs and P1 certainly aren't. The production designers might have decided that the Sesto Elemento didn't look carbon _enough_ in real life! bestest, M. Edited April 6, 2016 by Matt Bacon
Mike Chernecki Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) I agree that it is hard to tell from photos if it is carbon fiber or painted. Does matte clear diminish the effect of carbon fiber that much? Were any of the cars painted? Edited April 6, 2016 by Mike Chernecki
martinfan5 Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Some good points made, I was considering painting , and I might just go that route instead of waiting for the CF decals, there are couple of Lambo colors that come close to the color of the C/F is painted in.

Most of the time, it just looks like a matte very fine metallic brown. Much more noticeable here. http://www.lambocars.com/images/prototypes/sesto40.jpg Edited April 6, 2016 by blubaja
lilcraigford Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 This looks like another sharp kit from Aoshima! The only Aoshima kit I own is their Mclaren F1 GTR; still unbuilt but I was very impressed with the quality of the box contents. Looking at what is shown up top, I imagine the Sesto Elemento wouldn't disappoint either. I won't be picking up this kit, but I look forward to following the builds as they start rolling out.Regarding exterior finish, I think a matte gray (as some have suggested) could yield very satisfactory results. In photos, the appearance of the Sesto Elemento's unpainted carbon fiber is unlike that of say, a Pagani Zonda. Comparing pictures, the pattern is much finer (think "higher resolution") to the point where it'll be hard to see in scale. I can't immediately think of any existing 1/24 scale carbon fiber that might accurately capture the Lamborghini's appearance. I have no doubt that the aftermarket is cooking something up though! Here are two examples that show the different material patterns pretty well (linked because they are really high resolution):Lamborghini Sesto ElementoPagani Zonda R
Dragline Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Mix up some light bronze metallic and have at it. There is no way that weave will be rendered in 1/24 convincingly. If it is I think it'll be a waste of effort to apply it only to have to use a magnifying glass to appreciate it.
martinfan5 Posted April 10, 2016 Author Posted April 10, 2016 Whats in the box look via video as well.
aurfalien Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 What an amazing kit, such incredible quality!I'm looking forward to the Pagani release, should be epic!
