I did for get to scuff up the tires, but it shouldn't be too difficult. I'm warming up to a black toolbox. What would be the easiest way to cover this thing in coal dust? Do you have any weathering powders? That would be the best way. If not, MicroMark sells them as well as through Walthers.
Sledsel
Looking really nice. As a kid I always walked past this kit, but now, I wish I had one in the stash. Great job on the wood.
Vince66
Yup it is but wasn't thinking when I grabbed it. Made over 500 coal loads for several 70-75 car coal trains and still have a bunch lol. ?
Jim B
Charlie, no I do not have any weathering powders. I might have to invest in some of those. Thanks, Andy. Did the wood with craft paint. Wasn't too hard. These kits show up at model shows every so often. I suppose one can only hope the Revell USA reissues them again. I'd like to get the flatbed/stake truck & back date it to 1916. Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Walmart should all have pastels. That's what I use for weathering. Just shave some off with the edge of an Xacto blade, or some coarse sandpaper. Works great, and much cheaper than hobby specific products! Edited March 27, 2019 by Straightliner59
