Brudda Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Hello, does anyone make a Goodyear tire stencil for a McLaren MP4-6...1/12 scale? Help! Thanks
urshimato Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) There is a stencil in the Top Studio super transkit for the mp4/6. I’m not sure if it is available separately. This is the only one I know of, also has the “eagle” lettering too. Wayne Edited October 25, 2019 by urshimato Word missing

They look real with a little overspray. I watched a Goodyear guy in the pits and he was spraying “Goodyear “ on the tires. I will send the stencil back. Can you PM me with your address because I cannot make out the return address on the envelope. Thank you again!!!
peteski Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 The stenciled logos look great! Bruce, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but if I was going the extra mile to stencil the logos, I would have first dulled down the sidewalls. They just look too shiny to me. I've had a success using scouring powder and a toothbrush. Mix the powder with some water to make a paste, then rub it over the sidewalls with the toothbrush. It takes some time, but the vinyl tires look more thke the 1:1 tires.
LaughingIndian Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Hey Bruce, I had great luck copying this technique below... you already have a nice surface. A dull coat or two and optional weathering will make those tires perfecto ... I’ll bet ... straightliner1, the process for doing the rear tires are as follows. 1 - apply future to sidewall 2 - apply decals 3 - spray sidewall with coat of Testors dullcoat 4 - use charcol colored pastel chalk to tone down/weather the lettering, that's it!
