Bleriot XI

  This is my Bleriot XI I built many years ago . It is a 1/72nd scale kit. I think I built it for the 100th anniversary of flight. Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments. Steve, as I remember , I found this kit is a bit difficult also. Although I did manage to add a fuel tank in the fuselage.

Very nice! Is this a Frog kit? 

I have a very vague recollection of this airplane being offered in the Renwal "Aero-Skin" line, too.

 I believe this is the kit. As I remember, it is a reproduction of the Frog kit.

I know that many if not all of the original Frog molds ended up in Russia--I forget the brand name they were sold under then. These might in fact be the same molds! 

ETA: Did the homework and apparently this IS the Frog kit!

I wouldn't put much stock in those Scalemates timelines.  They're often very wrong.

For example they show the old tool and newer tool AMT '57 Chevy as all being the same kit and at least one instance where they're out of correct order.

Nice clean build.

The Bleriot is an aircraft I am fairly  obsessed with, ever since I built the Frog and InPact kits when I was a boy.

I became especially interested when I discovered that there was actually two of these flow in Canada by Count Jacques de Lessups. Count deLessups later founded an airmail service along the Gaspe and included Shrek FBA 17 flying boats! Cool stuff!.

Waiting in my stash are two Frog, 1 Novo, two Renwall Aeroskin, a Blue rider Bleriot X! Artelerie (sp?) and an amazing Chorozy Modelbud kit.

I will be building one of the Frog or Novo kits this year as a warmup for a Renwall Aeroskin.
