I would start with one of the kits you suggested, then cut the roof as far back as possible, saving the rear edge of the roof and pillars. Then I would use some plastic sheet or evergreen strips (I like the strips as they sand down easily and poly cement welds them together so its pretty strong) to extend the roof back before adding the saved rear edge and pillars so the window might still fit. For the pillars I would probably use some evergreen square strip and sand and file it to the shape of the pillars. I think I've seen flat hoods in resin for these era mopars somewhere. Heres a truck fender I've been reshaping using the evergreen strips and while it looks kinds rough it is actually smooth. Almost all the white bits started as square strip, including the cab extension and fenders. You can see the unshaped strip on the back edge of the bed too

Can't help with advice on what kit to use, but I like the car, are these 'before and after' pictures?

There is a 1/25 scale resin kit of a 1968 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door sedan. If I can find a good link, I'll post it for you.

that is a little  to much scratch building for me at this time plus i don't use xacto knifes  anymore due to me clumsyness i have  had one end up in my thigh and i have cut several  fingers and even puntured my right index finger  since i was holding the model in my  right hand and   the knife in my left   i was cutting and i got the hickups and  drove the tip the knife into my index finger

thanks  that would be  alot easier to  mod with the front  and back end swap with a 70 roadrunner or gtx

i was thinking a 78 monaco roof  would  work  aalso cause they seem to be very close  and with a little reshaping via sanding it would be be very close though i would still need two sets of  mopar door handles when i convertied the 70 roadrunner or gtx body  to a 4 door

Don't forget that the '70 Roadrunner or GTX is 1/24 while the AMT '68 Roadrunner (and the resin 4-door body made to work with it) will be 1/25. Don't be surprised if the front and rear ends are too wide to swap onto the resin body.

i will do  some trimming and sanding  to get them to fit  i done that with 1/24th hood to make them fit 1/25th bodies

The only cutting was the strips, the rest is just files and sandpaper. just sand it close with some p80-100 then finish it off with finer stuff. Its almost as easy as filler to sand down
