Yup, me too!  Interesting car, but it kind of looks cobbled together, but then that is not unusual for this kind of project.

Back to the future part 101.🥱

I really like the wheels though.

So here is the solution. This car was the attempt of a special version of a Chevrolet Camaro for Europe. The designer was Pietro Frua and the car was the Chevrolet Camaro Europo Hurst build in 1976. I don‘t want to say anything about the cars design.

The correct answer were sent in by

I was fooled by the Capri style grille but then recognised the doors.

Looks like someone stuck the back of a DeLorean and the grille of a late model Capri onto a base Camaro shell.

I was never a fan of Frua's work, even the AC 428 and Maserati Mistral looked awkward to me, as if they'd been gently sat on by an elephant. But both were far prettier than this!

Thanks Michael, good one!

Yes, this is definitely not a cohesive design.  It looks like he took a Sawzall to the roof just behind the B pillar and grafted a hatch back on it then filled in the parts that stuck out.  Also the rear view is particularly ugly.  The Firebird tail lights really look like an after thought.  At least the nose was done well if not pretty.  Looks more like a shade tree mechanic with Sawzall and a bunch of parts, not an Italian design house job.

Looks like someone flipped the photo to make it a RHD car.

Camaro-size car would be rather large for European sports car market.  While I also find it ugly overall, it does seem to have some redeeming qualities about it.

It is  most definitely flipped.  The lettering on the tires is a dead give away.   That is one of the first things I did was flip it back so I could see who the tire manufacturer was and that started me down the right road of an American car.  Not a lot of cars used BF Goodrich tires in the day.
