Slotto Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) The AMT 1967 Shelby GT-350. This is 2 coats of Duplicolor Chrysler green with 1 coat of Minwax Poly. I really like how the paint and finish turned out. This was a fun little build. Things started out great. Paint was no problem, the center caps on the wheels, wow, I shocked myself! Then came the side vents. One went down the drain when I was washing parts. And while trimming the windshield, i put a scratch in the bottom and cracked the top within 10 seconds. Ugh! No matter what I did I was plagued with problems. It doesnt help that literally every part needed to be trimmed. There was so much flash and so many mold seams, you could have made another car with what I scraped off. Well here she is, strictly box stock, warts and all. I decided against the decals and stripes. I kinda like the unassuming look. Thanks for looking. Edited October 2, 2022 by Slotto 6
vamach1 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Looks sharp and the color suits it well. I have the several variations of this kit (fastback and GT350) and they were easy builds although I like to paint the entire body with the front and back pieces all as one “part.” Most of my kits and spares are in storage and if you are not in a hurry I can probably did out the side scoop from one of my spare parts boxes. 1
Slotto Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 Thanks brother. Another member has been kind enough to send me what I need. I just wanted to finish it up so I can get back on the Coronet. Thanks though! 1
happy grumpy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 That tuned out quite nice despite the issues you had. Sometimes , no mater what certain builds will fight you to the bitter end, I've some of those ans not necessarly old kits. I guess it comes with the hobby. That's a great looking Mustang, has a nice little Bullitt flare to it. 1
AMT68 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Very nice. I just got completed a model with Dupli-Color Forest Green Pearl and it looks very similar to the color on your Mustang. 1
