eran_k Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Got this kit from a friend, missing some of the decals unfortunately (dash, seatbelts and other interior decals) so I'll the best I can without them. so far i almost finished the lower half with engine, headers and mufflers installed, the body is primed need to be sanded and then base coated and cleared. going to use zero paints le manse blue as per the original. also working on the interior which will be my own interpretation for blue on blue (this means i used whatever blue i had on the shelf ?) 2
1972coronet Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Nice COPO (Central Office Production Order -- General Motors' fleet and special order department) Camaro L72 (427, iron heads, solid lifter, single four barrel). Nice to see a correct 'raw' aluminium intake manifold -- most that I've seen in-so-far-as models have been painted engine colour, which is incorrect. Love the work on the door cards ! Blue-on-blue will be a stunner ! 1 1
Mattilacken Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Nice start! I am building the Z28 version of this kit and have it open at my desk at the moment=)

eran_k Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 Well, Revell (Germany) just sent me an e-mail saying they'll send me the decal sheet for the kit for free, but it'll take like 3 weeks so i guess i'll put the Camaro aside while waiting. really good customer service! 3
deuces wild Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 (edited) The best!... About 20 years ago, I ordered the decal sheet for the Monogram 1969 Camaro Indy pace car kit and all I had to do is give them the 4 digit kit number... Now I can build the pace car edition whenever I get around to it... Hope the decals are still good...??? Edited March 13, 2023 by deuces wild
eran_k Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 Waiting for the decals doesn't prevents painting the body...it's my first time using Zero paints. hope it comes out good. I used their primer few days ago and today sprayed the le manse blue base coat, it looks i left some scratches on the roof but other than that I'm pleased, nice and easy paint to work with. 3
eran_k Posted March 21, 2023 Author Posted March 21, 2023 Applied some clear coat as base for decals and started to apply the body decals 2
adamelvis Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Nice & Clean so far. This is going to be MINT !! TCB, Adam 1
eran_k Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 so i finally got my decals from revell, i actually needed just a couple for the dashboard. so i finished up the interior and assembled the rest. fitting the body over the chassis was difficult and I'm sure i added few scratches to the paint in the process , also something didn't fit very good under the hood so i didn't use the air filter, this one will be a curbside model. all in all im quit pleased with the result. the bumpers were painted using molotow marker and they look better in reality then in the photos. 1
