High octane Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 I just saw him last Nov. at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals show and he didn't look too "chipper" back then. I did manage to get his autograph and I may have taken his photo(?) also. I believe I saw him race at one of the local tracks back in the 60's. May he RIP. I'm just hearing this for the first time and my wife has already headed off to bed but when I tell her the news tommorrow morning she will be sad to hear as well. She was a big fan of his and admired the fact that he was still involved in the racing at his age when she last met him. The picture is from Seattle, 2006. 204 T/F Posted March 31, 2012 Share Posted March 31, 2012 I had the pleasure of meeting "Grumpy" and Ronnie Sox at a nostalgia meet at National Trail Raceway a few years ago.They were sitting together signing autographs talking about the good old days.It was a real thrill to see two of the greatest 4-speed drivers ever together.He will be missed. Luckily i had the opportunity to meet them all. Ronnie sox was my idol since i was a kid. Both Ronnie and Bob were very easy to talk to. Grumpy. Maybe i caught him on a bad day.
