W-409 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Thanks Everyone for the kind comments! I appreciate them a lot. The paint turned out better than I expected. This was my first time using Tamiya Spray Paints, and it was really different from the regular Maston Sprays that I use. The paint came out with more pressure, but I got the hang of it really fast. Also the paint job turned out very good straight from the Spray Cans, so polishing was a bit easier to do. Harry mentioned the opened tailgate window... That was one detail I thought I should add, because when I get the Boat and Trailer combo done, I'll install Water Skis hanging out of that window. Originally I thought about a surf board, but that would be too heavy for that acetate window. These unique subjects are a lot of fun to build. Same thing with older kits, somehow it's a different feeling when you're building a 40 year-old kit compared to new kit. I also like Longroofs a lot. Thanks!!!
om617 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Congratulations on the win,and i dont see how a clean machine like that should not win.
TFchronos Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Show stopper right here, very stunning and amazing wagon Niko. Congrats on the win too.
realgone58 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I'm a wagon nut as well. This one looks fantastic! I love the color and the lowered look. Great build!
W-409 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Thanks Fellas! I'm glad you like it, and I'm really happy how it came out. Next I'll probably finish my '62 Impala Super Stock that is not far away from completed. I just need to polish the body, put BMF on and do the final assembly.
Baugher Garage Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I like the partly open rear window. Nice touch. Me too! Nice touch!!
W-409 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Thanks Dave and Mike! I appreciate your kind comments.
Albie D Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Very well put together overall, with miles deep paint, cool little details, and a nice low stance. Dig it man! Edited January 31, 2014 by Albie D
Lovefordgalaxie Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Very cool!!!! Loved the color choice and the overall execution.
Ron Hamilton Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 That has to be the nicest build of that kit I have ever seen.
W-409 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Thanks Guys! It really means a lot! Jim: I knew you'd like the paint. This is the best paint job that I've done so far. I was trying some new techniques on polishing, and it worked out. Thanks Again, Everyone!
booboo60 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Yup. Got to agree. She is fine looking. Very good job,
Dave42 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Very nice! Never seen one of these. Color is cool and the foil work super. Everything looks top notch!
W-409 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Thank You Alan and Dave! You're really talented builders, so it means a lot when you say that I did a good work...Thanks !
Dave42 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Wow, just checked out your racing site. Sweet Chevelle! Thank you for the compliment as well!
Hayabusa Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Really cool & clean build! Color and paintwork is perfect Grattis till vinsten!
Chuck Most Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Very nice! This is one of those kits I would hoard, if only they were easier to find.
W-409 Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Thanks For The Kind Words! Chuck: Yep, I would do that, too. I would like to build at least one more Custom from this kit and of course there would be other possibilities, too. Actually it's the same thing with all Jo-Hans as I'd like to hoard them, too.
