Jonathan, I love that color. I'm not a huge "Exotic" car fan but, Mercielagos are just so cool. B)

Is that paint you are using acrylic? I know it's Scale Finishes but, I've never used their paint. Plus, I've noticed that acrylics have so many color choices and I am thinking of breaking out the airbrush for the first time this summer.

So here is the mess up, as you can see, I painted the top part of the doors black, well, they should be body color, in my hast to get the doors masked to do the black trim, I just completely over looked that part, so , was trying to see if I could remove the black, yeah, of course it wasnt going to work, and now the kick in nads, believe it or not, the body took an entire 2oz bottle of paint, so I now have buy another 1oz bottle of paint to fix my mistake, even then, a 1oz bottle of paint is more then I am going to need .

and the rest of the black paint on the engine cover and tail

It really looks good Jonathon, its your call but so many cars have black on the doors and trim you could leave them black. I would have not known. Its your call...

I outlined the area that I am talking about, that is supposed to be body color, if you follow that line back, I would have to paint a lot stuff black for it all to match up, not going to happen

There is always a fish hook ready to catch you out somewhere along the line.

I'm wondering if you may have a color matching issue when you repaint those areas.

it looks like another great kit from Aoshima and your build is doing it justice

After getting some paint, finally got the doors repainted and finished

Here you see the metal prop rods for the doors

and door installed

and in the closed position, I have to say, the fit of the doors when closed is pretty bad, more on the drivers side, now I am not sure if its a result of the builder, and its too late to try and find a way to fix it

Glad to see you're still at it. The doors came out very well. Glad you were able to fix it. I'm with Gary, I think it looks cool with the doors opened.

I agree as well. I am planning on having at least the driver's side open on mine.

I've rarely seen a kit with opening doors that actually fit properly, besides, why bother with opening doors if you're going to display it with them closed? I think if they open, show it that way! Your Lambo looks fabulous, display it with the doors open! Ciao, Dino

I would definitely go doors up! It looks better that way, IMHO. You worked hard redoing those doors and they should be shown off. And the previous comment about kits with opening doors closing right is generally the truth.
