maltsr Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Tamiya kit, re-issued about 7 years ago with Cartograph decals. Being an older kit, not much detail underneath but offset by this beautiful one-piece body moulding. For the first time ever, I didn't use primer and sprayed Tamiya Gloss Black straight onto the bare body. A mist coat followed by two wet coats produced this finish, no sanding necessary other than a couple of dust bunnies after the first wet coat (another first LOL). Many hours of decalling later I have reached this stage....for some reason it took about 5 minutes in the water before the decals would slide off the sheet
Dave Van Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Good start!! I like that kit.....simple as it is. I used aftermarket Jagermister (sp?) decals as I love orange cars!!!
Jeremy Jon Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Looks great, that'll be a stand out when completed! I personally hate decal work, so I know how hard it can be, good work!
hjracing Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I remember those cars from the 80's, was great contenders in the endurance formula. Great start!
maltsr Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) A little progress, added some masking tape seatbelts to the rather basic interior A bit more work and here's how it sits right now Edited November 2, 2014 by maltsr

rusty85 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 dose Tamiya even do motors anymore? Motor as in engine or as in motorized toy?
