  1. Scaledale, true, but my swimming is more aimless thrashing then actual swimming! I actually have two '67 (I think) green "Max Rat" prostreet Chevells that i didnt know i had in a parts box, it's chassis is very close, and the stock chassis for the AMT roadrunner/GTX/Super bee is close as well. Between the two I can build one to fit. Thanks for the help! I'll try to post pics of my progress!
  2. Thanks for the input! As in my first post, I'm using the Revell/Monogram Superbird (1/24). I have the '55 Chevy pro sportsman, but its half built. I might have the stock Roadrunner chassis, I can use that to see if it'll be close enough. The list of things I want to try on this one is growing, hopefully I won't get in over my head!
  3. Thanks! I'm not looking for a direct swap in, but I figured if someone had done one or knew of something that could be made to work, it'd beat scratching an all new chassis (which is beyond my current skill set). I'll track one of those down and see how it sorts out.
  4. Does anyone know of a prostreet chassis that will work with the Revell Superbird? I'd like to give the idea a shot, but don't have a chassis that'll fit without huge modifications!
  5. Nice build, is this the Baja kit? If it is, I don't suppose you might still have and perhaps may want to trade the decals? I've had this in my rebuild pile for a long time.
  6. The Revell Daytona is by far the better of the two available (the other being an AMT), they also recently reissued the Superbird, which is an older Monogram kit (same as the '70 Roadrunner/GTX). Johan made a Superbird, but I've never built one. The Revellogram kit is simple, 1/24th I believe, but builds into a nice car. Hope that helps!
  7. Nice progress! I've built many of these ('68/'69 and the Daytona), and I can say from experience that the Hemi won't fit under the stock hood. I got it close by grinding away at the bottom of the air cleaner, but still wouldn't fit. Maybe with more cutting to the carbs and air cleaner.
  8. If I could I'd be there, but I'm in central Saskatchewan in snow up to my eyebrows
  9. Well, a buddy of mine settled this for me by offering a 1/350 Tamiya Bismarck for dirt cheap! Are there any tips or tricks I should know? Ships are new territory for me. Thanks!
  10. I'll volunteer for that!
  11. I have a fair stash of the Revell '68/'69 Charger/Daytona, as well as the AMT '68 Roadrunner/GTX. I have 4 built Chargers, 2 built Daytona's, 2 built Roadrunners, and 2 built GTX's. love them kits!
  12. I did read a few reviews off google, but they all sound exactly alike. I was hoping for someone who's built one to share their thoughts on it/them.
  13. Holy Friggin BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH.
  14. I'm going to tackle my first shop model, and I've set my sights on the 1/350 Graf Spee. There are two kits that scale, an Acadamy and a Trumpeter. Does anyone know which us the better kit? Opinions? Thanks!
  15. I had the same issue. When my son was 3 or 4, he wanted to help in the worst way! So I found a kit I didn't really have any interest in, and let him "paint" it with markers. When he was done, he helped me put it together. It sits in my display case, and even now (he's 8 now), he makes sure to show his buddies his car. He's into snap kits now, and my daughter is doing the marker car. Even she seems to like it!
  16. I'm an underground miner operator for Mosaic Potash here in Saskatchewan. Been with them for 5 years, was an auto mechanic, a welder and a heavy duty mechanic before that.
  17. I picked up the AMT 1932 Chrysler, has anyone done this one? Tips?
  18. I found my score on the local kijiji. When I'd got to his place, his tiny house was wall to wall MoPar! Models, diecast, signage, you name it. He said he'd givin a dozen or so other kits to a local club aimed at kids, but he'd been put on a month long layoff so needed some cash.
  19. I picked up 17 MoPars yesterday, all but two are sealed, and those two are still factory bagged. I paid $75.00 for the lot! A heck of a deal I think! Here's the list: 1970 Plymouth Superbird (molded in "Petty blue") 1971 Plymouth GTX 1970 Plymouth GTX 2 1970 Challengers (one the 2 in 1, one metal flake) 2 1971 Hemi Cudas (one street machine version) 1974 Cuda snap kit (my sons already called that one) 1967 GTX (metal flake plastic) 1969 Charger RT 1969 Super Bee (metal flake plastic) 2 Mr Norms Dart GTS 1969 GTX convertible (molded in a nice sky blueish color) 1964 Belvedere 1968 Roadrunner 1971 Duster All in all, a good day!
