  1. I think he meant the gap in front of the intake.
  2. Second the Testors Clear Parts cement, works great for me!
  3. I had a '66 Sport Fury. Even with the 383 it was an awesome car. I've got plans on ordering a resin kit to do my old cruiser. Can't wait to see how this one works out.
  4. I saw a resin four door 1st gen neon on eBay the other day, don't recall the guys name off the top of my head, but you should be able to find it.
  5. This is my fourth. I've had an '81 through to '84. Just can't seem to go to long without one on the driveway! The last one I built was a 360 4 spd, got around 325 hp from it. The truck was built to cruise, so it spun around 1800 rpm at 100 kph, but when I wanted to pass, I was gone! At least parts are still fairly easy to find, unlike my '48 Dodge 1/2 ton. That's a much tougher unit to get going on!
  6. I came here a few years ago after hearing about if from a fellow on BMC. I'm not much for getting out and mixing with people, grew up pretty well an only child (I have a sister much older them I), and I don't post as much as I should, but even I have grown so much in this hobby thanks to what I've seen and learned here. This place is obviously (to me anyways) a great meeting place for friends to chat and share, and I've seen and experienced the patience and wisdom of those who have taken newcomers and helped us learn or relearn this great hobby. To those that spend their time and effort in keeping up this site, thank you! You are truly appreciated for what you do for us!
  7. We haven't hade a huge amount of snow up here in central Saskatchewan yet, maybe 6-8" total, but the cold has set in! The other day it hit -42 c! It took 20 mins of driving before my tires warmed up enough to be round again! I'm convinced the battery in my 2011 Charger won't survive much longer, being in the trunk it never gets to thaw out. I used to work at the security desk at the Potash mine where I'm (at the moment) employed, and being an American owned company (Mosaic Potash), we get a lot of guys from the southern states in for tours. We had a few guys from Texas I think last year during a nasty cold snap that had never been this far north, or experienced such cold. They looked like they wouldn't survive the 100' walk from their parking spot to the door! They just couldn't wrap their heads around such extreme cold. All I said was "it's not bad if the wind stays down". By the time they left, the wind was howling. I felt so bad for those poor guys!
  8. There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. An absolutely amazing build! My hat's off to you sir!
  9. That's awesome work! The Charger is one of my personal favorite kits. How did you do the glass like that? I've always wanted to do a weathered build, and yours is very inspiring!
  10. The 440's in the '68/'69 Revell Charger and Daytona's are excellent engines.
  11. I got a '71 Charger street machine, '69 Barracuda, '75 Dart/Duster, and ordered a '70 'Cuda. All courtesy of EBay.
  12. The sidewinder has a viper engine. I think it was based on the Ram, I have one in a rebuild pile somewhere.....
  13. Thanks! The engines are where I typically spend the most time. The next Roadrunner I do (got a few on the go), I'll have to add some more hoses and wiring, they look so empty! The Revell '68/'69 Charger/Daytona kits are my favorites, and I try to outdo myself on each one. These three are the first builds I did with polish and wet look clear. The GTX is a bit crummy in person, but pulls out ok on the shelf. Thanks again for the comments!
  14. Thanks for the comments guys! It means alot considering the talent pool here far exceeds my own. I'm hoping to get back to the bench soon, we're redoing the basement so the hobby room is packed full of stuff. Just been collecting kits, which is a hard habit to break!
  15. Well, I figure its time to put a few builds up. These I did a few years ago, and are among my favorites. Though hard to see in my cruddy iPhone pictures, they're riddled with mistakes (they were test beds for various things), but I like 'me all the same. The GTX is Tamiya Bronze, the Dart is Tamiya rattle can Candy Lime Ice, and the Charger is Tamiya Gunmetal Grey. All comments welcome!
  16. Just got my 1/350 Graf Spee in the mail. A school report on this ship started a life long love of history.
  17. Ah! That seems right on the mark! Thanks! I guess vintage doesn't really fit the Fleetline, but the other two can sit on the shelf as are. I got quite lucky with this particular find. In the boxes I also found a Warlock, '72 Cuda, '61 Olds F85 wagon, '77 Roadrunner, what appears to be a 1/12 Lamborghini Countach (unknown manufacturer) along with about a half dozen other older and oddball cars that can be rebuilt. Along with a few polished rocks (my daughter LOVES rock collecting!) and a few dinky cars (one quite old). The Warlock I've wanted for a long time but couldn't win one for a realistic price. Goin to be busy!
  18. I was under the impression that one had to use photobucket or some place like that to post pictures, but I guess not! I'll file that one under "gotta pay more attention". The tire/wheel is a 1/25 Warlock unit there for scaling purposes. The bodies of the smaller cars are multi-piece units. The Tealish one has an engine, but no opening hood. Any help would be great!
  19. I've recently bought a few boxes of older builds and junk cars, and buried among them were some quite old (I think) kits. I've tried EBay and Google, but with no manufacturers marks I've got nothing to go on. The ones I'm most interested in are smaller (1:43ish). One has Revell 1962 on the bottom, the other has no marks. A third is slightly larger (1:32?), and has no marks. All three are molded in colour (one blue, one yellow and one a tealish shade) tires are colour as well. Even the one stamped Revell has proven difficult to ID. I don't do any of the online photo places, so no pics sorry. If anyone thinks they could ID them, pm me and I can send pics. Thanks!
  20. I believe someone in the last few pages of the what did you get today? thread got a resin Cummins engine. Maybe pm that guy an see where he got it.
  21. Picked up two boxes of built and junk models, as well as a model magazine from 1963 (forget the name at the moment) from a flea market. I've began searching through the boxes, and have come across a 61 Olds wagon, Dodge Warlock, and a 77 roadrunner that are usable. Also most of (if not all) a large scale Lambo Countach. Can't find a manufacturer on it, it it has wiring for all the lights. Looks buildable. Good haul I think, not done going through it yet either!
  22. Hello, I've owned four early 80's Dodge Rams, and would like to do a before and after of my current '83 Prospector. I thought I had seen some time ago a conversion kit or a stand alone kit for this? I searched but came up empty. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  23. Ratnasty, that looks good, but I've got zero experience with resin! Tooltas, I've been a Dodge man most of my life, so I'd only use the back end, which isn't stock Chevy, so it's ok! Hvymtl, that's the plan I'm going with, the Chevy tubs should go onto the stock chassis without massive rebuilding. I'm also planning a removable front end, blown engine (not sure if I'm using the 440 or a Hemi yet), opening trunk, and various PE sets I've had laying about. Should be interesting! I know nothing of racing, and usually stick to building factory stock, so this'll be a bit outside the box for me.
