What cars interest you in resin 1/25
Furiousgeorge replied to 5.0man's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Not a car, but a Pilothouse Dodge truck would be awesome! -
Same to you Doug (Mr mopar)! A great guy to trade with!

I had a 1:1 '66 Sport Fury, a beautiful car in style and ride. But I had to sell it, and have longed for another one ever since. This kit will replicate what I'd have done with that car had I been able to keep it.

Thanks! I've been building for years, just not NASCAR kits. The modern NASCAR stuff bores me, but the classic cars have caught my eye. Yeah, the P. L. kits need some help, but the price was right. I'll check out that site.

I just picked up a bunch of Polar Lights kits (two '70s Petty Chargers and two of the Buddy Baker Chargers, all 1/25), and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on building classic NASCARs. I haven't built a NASCAR for nearly 15 years, and I don't watch it on tv, but reading up on these cars and some of the drivers has proven to be really interesting. I'm planning on using a '69 Charger 500 body (Mario Rossi #22), a '70 Coronet (Bobby Watson #8), and a '69 Daytona (Buddy Baker #71), since only one had a usable body. So any tips or tricks regarding these are very much appreciated!

Great work! I Also have a diecast on the way to do my 2011 Charger, so I'll keep a close eye on this build for pointers!

the new Charger
Furiousgeorge replied to oldnslow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I currently own a 2011 V6 Charger, and I love it. Great power, incredible mpg for big heavy car, ride and overall fit/feel is perfect. 80,000 kms and not one single problem. So many people moan about it being a four door, get over it. If you want a hot rod, go buy a hot rod. For a car guy with three kids under ten, who wanted a fun, mean looking car, this is perfect. Besides, the eighties gave us a much more terrible Charger then even the worst of these ones could ever be. -

How Many Of You Guys Live In Canada

Saskatoon(ish) Saskatchewan here. -
I've got the S&M Cuda, Dodge Raminator and a Dodge Warlock on the way. I've been wanting that Warlock a long time! I've got an old glue bomb one, but it needs nearly the entire Lil Red kit to rebuild.

Welcome! You're in the same place I was when I first found this site! There's no end to what you'll learn here! If you scroll down there's a section called "modelling how to's" below the "others" section. Tons of great stuff in there.

Got a stock '70 Super Bee off the Bay in yesterday. It's an older issue (box says 1993), and I was very surprised at the quality of the moulds! No flash anywhere, and awesomely crisp detail compared to more recent versions of this kit I have! Is it normal for the moulds to degrade so quickly (from 1993 to roughly 2005 or so when I picked up a pro street version that was nearly all flash and muddy detail at best)?

When I was a kid many years ago, that's how I decided on what kits to buy. The most awesome box won. I'm a bit wiser now (not a whole lot though!), but the box is still what'll draw my eye first. They gotta sell the crappy kits somehow, so throw a great picture or scene on the box and watch them go.

Looks good. I've got this one in the starting stages. Hope mine turns out as well as yours.
-
Spectacular work! I have the Lindberg car that I now have a much stronger urge to get into! I'll be keeping an eye in this for sure!
-
Love that color! Looks great on the old Polara! I've always liked the full sized MoPars, just had tons if class.

Ah, learned a little something there! And thinking about it, that makes perfect sense. I remember changing the valley pan on my 383 Sport Fury years back, I was surprised that it was just a wee bit of tin.
-
Did it come with one? I've got a 440 six pac awaiting its turn that I don't think has a valley pan? Unless it's moulded to the intake maybe. Should be an easy fix though.
