Thank you for your input. I like the spoon test, and the suggestion to buy the actual car paint, instead of model car paint. I grew up in Europe, and they have different types of model car paint there. there was never a need to use spray paint. The modelcar paint was a smooth as olive oil. Even if you painted your entire car with just a brush, you would never see any brush strokes, because of the oily paint, it evened out nicely. But the american model car paint is very different. The paint dries fast and always leaves streaks. Larger surfaces just have to be done with spray paint otherwise it does not look good.. I never liked spray paint, but I have no option. ButI'm not giving up! :-) Thanks for you advice!
