  1. My jaw is still on the the floor. This is freakin impressive. I've never in my wildest imagination thought this was achievable. Holy cow man.
  2. dang this is sooooo killer! such a good idea
  3. I am using the AMT 1967 mercury comet kit even though it was made as a cyclone gt in the kit. i.e. the badges and decals are set up for a cyclone GT. I am using slixx decals for a 64 comet. and the motor came from this kit minus the intake manifold and above and the pulleys which came from the 68 firebird 2'n1 kit. I drilled a hole in the front of the motor to fit the distributor.
  4. This is what is going to be a street/strip car. Something that someone would drive stoplight to stoplight. Nothing fancy. Keeping it able to modify on the weekends to hide what might have happened that the cops are looking for from the weekend the car with hood scoops sanded off and gaps filled along with the side emblems shaved off and the motor. the other side badge shaved back side of the motor the seats with mold lines and excess sanded and shaved off along with the other pieces. what will be the grill... Thank you for looking. more pictures to come soon.
  5. Man, I tell you what, I would love the same thing that Shane is talking about to be honest.
  6. I'm not gonna lie, I think I may be a bit of perfectionist but only to the extent that the hobby is still fun. I feel that there is a bit of perfectionism in everyone's build because no one wants to build a crappy model on purpose, to them its perfect and likewise, to some that is their level of perfectionism. Not all 1:25 cars that look 1:1 should be considered perfect because sure it may look real but some people may think that the build was constricted to what once was and no creativity was experienced other than the build itself. I don't know, I feel that there should be a little creativity involved in every build only because if we as human beings don't let our imaginations take control of our mind once in a while, there is no telling what we are capable of other than what it is that we have been doing for centuries. Just my thoughts once again.
  7. That is so sh** hot! I love the color scheme and the way everything fit so well. Amazing job.
  8. I was talking to my wife last night after sanding mold lines and she asks "why are you sanding?". I tell her the whole reason why and as I'm telling her this I think to myself, dang for people who may be perfectionists like myself, this has to be the most bitter sweet hobby ever considering that you WILL spend hours on something so minute like mold lines and take another day working on primer and not even get to some other part of a model. It makes me happy though knowing that my build will come out very nice opposed to looking like it was put together cutting corners. I don't know, just wondering what y'alls take on this was...
  9. Hes competing in the next death race
  10. I got one of these coming in due time. I just haven't posted it to on the workbench. this one came out very nice
  11. Hey there Chris, not gonna lie, I was there where you are once and I just kept on doing it before there was even such a thing as a forum. Everything I know is from what I've experienced and learned through others and by others I mean I can count them all on one hand. lol. If you need help feel free to message me. You can check out my underglass "68 firebird amateur stock car" and "57 belair rodded out". Take a look at those and if you have any questions let me know. I know what its like to want to make a bad ass model and even still I don't consider my stuff first rate. I am always looking to better my stuff. P. M. me if need be.
  12. THAT. IS. AWESOME
  13. I got the dukes of hazard kit "general lee". I got it from michaels for 50% off. $10.00; felt like I was buying a model when I was young again.
  14. The K-Mart near me has some model kits. a whole row with tom daniel kits, a whole row for snap tite, and a whole row of street burners with classic kits next to it like old roadsters. I really hope they start popping up more in grocery stores. I remember as a kid, I was able to get them at Wal-mart and now they're no where to be found in there.
  15. Too late I'm already addicted. This place is more addicting than facebook!
  16. I was probably 11 and it was the amt 55 chevy cameo. I got glue smudges on all the windows and brush painted them silver to cover up the smudges. I also brush painted the entire model without primer with the little white brush you get from michaels. looked like dookie. I wish I still had it though
  17. I've always thought this one was so breath taking and appealing to me. It just showed so much dominance and muscle. I have one of these kits as a build when i get better. I built this one for my little brother back in the day when they mass produced them.
  18. Thats awesome that he does that. I am glad there is some hope
  19. Man, its just so magical because I feel that especially in today's age, no one can seem to relate to something like this due to what I feel is a dying hobby in mainstream media. No one appreciates the amount of detail that goes into something that we build because no one has that feeling of self gratitude and all they know now is gaming or virtual "whatevers". Thats why im so glad Charlie from Pro Tech told me about this website. It makes me feel at home knowing that there are so many more people like me out there and actually take time out of their busy lives to actually sit down and build something with their own two hands and when someone else who has no idea walks into their house and sees that sitting on the shelf they're like "where did you buy that?" all we can do is laugh because even if you begin to describe what you did in the least they're like "oh thats cool" but they have NO IDEA. The hours you burnt your brain trying to figure out how to mold something together and the amount of time that went into getting no glue spots anywhere or the hours it took for something to dry. I just hate where today's young generation today is going and its unfortunate that only a select few of us will be able to hopefully pass on to our youngsters what it really means to have a sense of self pride knowing that you are able to create and not just play on something virtual that was already created by a computer, a push of a button if you will.
  20. I don't know about you all but for me modeling 1:25 scale is really a sort of escape and sometimes I wonder if some people might do it for some other reason. Not to say that my life is extremely hectic but being in the Marines and have a wife and child with one on the way, life gets a little crazy and it just feels like when im building, painting, gluing, etc, I feel like I'm a 1:25 scale dude just working in my own 1:25 garage and its so peaceful just watching what my mind creates come to life and its like my escape. Sometimes though, I know some of you can relate, when in said escape you forget to eat and do things that you need to do and time just flies by and then I sorta snap back into reality. Just wondering what any thoughts on this were...
  21. Thanks. I love this site. Everyone is so supportive and everyone has so much talent
  22. I'm sure they did considering my wife burned hers when she got out of a 75 vette she once had with side pipes. I don't think that one would be any exception.
