Ive built a set of functional coilovers that I cant figure out a way to keep them together and still make them work. I used a tube and rod assembly with a spring just like a real coilover. The issue is, the rod comes out of the tube at full extension. If I glue it, they no longer work. So how do I fix them together without compromising the function? Ive brainstormed on this and just cant come up with anything that works.

I added the lip. Its the rings from a set of Aoshima wheels that I cut the front in half for the staggered look. -

Im doing a similiar Camaro build and for reference on the newer Camaro wheels, with a lip they look phenomenal, imo. Ive got a build thread in this section somewhere I need to update lol. The Camaro looks how. I like the wheels on it, but not on that particular build. Needs something sportier, imo. -

Nice work on that chop. Looks professional. I need to do me a sexy ratrod at some point. -
That is quite literally the most beautiful model engine I have ever seen. And frankly, it rivals some real engines, imo. 2 questions, for someone without an airbrush, whats a good way to do proper heat staining? And two, how did you do your collectors?

Awesome!

Every update this thing gets more and more impressive... which is saying something considering the very first post of the rough engine was jaw dropping. But this lastest update.... mother of GOD! This honestly just isnt fair. To hell with it. I quit LOL.

It was .080 x .156 rod #167 (2.0mm x 4.0mm. As for building the frame, I used this tutorial as a rough guide, but I kinda did it my way. Dunno if Im hardheaded or talented, LOL. I didnt bend mine like that tho, what I did was make cuts like he said, but thats it. I just make cuts about halfway through the frame and slowly bent it. If it didnt go far enough, I would make more cuts. All about an 1/8 of an inch apart on the INSIDE of the bend. Then, once I had the shape I wanted, I would touch it with some heat to hold it's shape. As for bulding the frame, I first traced the outline of the body on a piece of paper so I could get my general dimensions. One tip I learned the hard way; have your suspenson and roll cage/interior planned out BEFORE you build the frame. Especially the suspension. It makes for an easier time when you need to start adding in all the extra stuff and cutting into the frame, compromising it's structural strength. Past that, it was honestly not quite as hard as I thought it would be, but it was pretty time intensive. When you start to do it, feel free to message me for reference pics or questions. I love to help in anyway I can. -

Sounds good, dude. I appreciate it. -
Automotive aesthetics - what speaks to you?

I think the mechanical aspect is what gets me more than anything on any car Ive seen. When you start turning the engine components into something that you could just stare at for days. Its easy to do that with a body kit or wheels or exterior goodies, but doing that with a mechanical thing is way harder. -
In that case, it works perfect and I wouldnt change it. Keep on rolling!

Im straightening up that rear shock for anyone that noticed its slightly off. Does anyone know a way to take some aluminum tubing and making a trumpet styled intake out of it? -

You and me both, haha. I need to do a simple OOB build. Every one Ive built has been such intense custom work. -
That is sheer amazing. Awesome work!

Love the Alfa Romeo. One of my favorite small cars.

Yes, you must now do Clarkson's Miata. That was an awesome episode, lol. Nice work on the build.

I love it, very unique. My only criticism would be the grill portion of the van. I dont know if you are keeping it to show that it was a Caravan at some point, but imo it just breaks up the overall look of the van. I dont mean this to say how to do your build, only offering an opinion. That said, it still looks awesome.

That cut on the hatch is super sharp. Not sure I could have done that, lol. Good work.

Thank you sir. Should be starting the interior work as the next phase. -
That is just phenomenal. Those headers seriously are a work of art. Heck, they are better than most real headers Ive seen. WOW!
