  4. Hey guys, just want to say a big thanks to all who has commented on my Pontiac. All your comments are very much appreciated, they really do mean a lot. Charlie, your info on these cars is a really great help, I will now change the scripts on the car and post up some pics as soon as possible. Skip, as I mentioned earlier, the colour that I used for this car is actually a Renault colour called Parisien red metallic from a motor store called Halfords here in the UK. The actual colour called out in the instructions is called Garnet red and the box photo shows a deep metallic red car so I guess that mine is not to far off from that colour. Again, many thanks to all for your comments.
  5. Hi guys, thanks very much for your comments, as always they are very much appreciated. Charlie, I very much appreciate your input regarding the model, the rims that are on the car were used as the standard rims that are also supplied with the kit were the ones that I wanted to use but after painting them to match the body, there was too much red in my own honest opinion so opted to use the rims that are now on it. You also say that the scripts should be monochromatic? What colour would you suggest that I paint them in? I am curious as I saw a Grand Prix SE on the web and the scripts were painted in silver which is what I painted mine in. As I said earlier on, we don't see these here in the UK, so people like yourselves who may have knowledge of these cars are helpful and your help on these things is very much appreciated.
  6. Hi folks, here is my latest offering, my Revell of Germany Pontiac Grand Prix SE. Built pretty much box stock and painted in a Renault Persian red metallic which if you have seen this kit, is a close colour to the box photo. Some parts box license plate decals to replace the damaged kit ones and some photoetch license plate frames finished this off along with some added tyre valves. Please feel free to add comments and thoughts as I did have to do a fair bit of internet research on this one as I have never seen a real one here in the UK so I may have made some mistakes, I genuinely do not know.
  7. Brett, I love your sherrif's car!! I have the Mobius Hudson Hornet that I am tempted to build as Doc and recently I picked up a Tamiya Porsche Carrera that I intend to build as Sally. I cant wait to see your others.
  8. I really like this!! What a cracking little track racer!!
  9. Stunning build Ajay, I built one a long time ago, yours is a beauty!! Nice to see someone close to home too, I am just down the road from you!!
  10. Here is my latest build for you all, my Renault Megane Sport Coupe. Just a basic out of the box build, this Fujimi kit took me just 2 weeks to complete. Interior painted in grey and flat black and body painted in Tamiya camel yellow spray.Tyre valves added and some KFS number plates finished this one off for me. As usual, all thoughts and comments are welcome folks and thanks for looking.
  11. Hi guys, first time on here for a while due to computer problems and work schedules but would just like to say a big thanks to all of your positive comments and thoughts regarding my Sierra. Also a big thanks to richcrabman for the photo of the cossie exhaust, I have now changed it for a bigger bore which looks more substantial. Many thanks again guys.
  12. Many thanks guys for your comments. Tommy, the exhaust I used is the one that was with the XR4i kit,not too sure if it is the same or not as the RS500 had a side exiting race exhaust so it may not be 100% accurate.
  13. I have just spotted this thread and I never knew that this kit existed! I will definitely have to look for one of these for myself as I remember my granddad had one of these many years ago. If I remember rightly, it was a pale blue colour and I think that it was from about 1977 (R reg here in UK). It was a very comfortable car from what I can remember, a lot more comfortable than the Vauxhall viva he had afterwards! Anyway, best of luck with your build and I shall be following this for sure.
  14. Good luck with this kit, I shall be watching your progress. I had this kit a while back but unfortunately I cut it up after having a bizarre idea about mating it up with a spare Impreza kit that I had to make a stretched limo version!! Needless to say it didn't work out and went straight into the spares box for parts.
  15. Nice work on the Actros and trailer, JT, I built one of these a few years ago and I have noticed that you have a gap between the cab door and the front bumper as well as me. Apart from that, a beautiful job!!
  16. Very nice build, certainly looks different in Yellow. I had one of these kits years ago in my stash, I sold it to a friend who in turn sold it on when he realised how much work it needed!!!
  17. Nice clean build, Slusher , very nice colour also.
  18. Very nice colour and stance!!
  19. Here is my 10th model this year for me, the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth by Tamiya. I have actually kitbashed a racing RS500 together with a Ford Sierra XR4i(both quite rare kits in themselves)to produce a road going RS500; one of my all time favourite 80's cars. The RS500 had the front and rear pins removed and also the underfloor jacks and the twin rear fuel tank openings on the rear quarters were filled in and sanded flush. The interior tub from the XR4i fitted straight in without fuss and was detail painted also using the racing steering wheel from the RS500. One of hardest parts was finding some wheels and tyres to suit as obviously I couldn't use the racing wheels and slicks so after some searching through the spares box, I found some alloys from a Fujimi 3 series BMW and the tyres were from an AMT Ford Taurus with the solid backs trimmed out. The RS500 was only offered in 3 colours, Black, White and a beautiful metallic colour called Moonstone Blue; this was the colour I had decided on so I had some specially mixed up for me from a motor factors and then sprayed on and 3 coats of laquer on top and polished up. After fitting together, the KFS number plates were fitted and the sunroof was some black decal sheet as I didn't want to cut the body whilst building the car as they are quite rare and didn't want to risk ruining a good kit. A photoetch fuel filler cap was painted and added to the rear quarter and she was then complete. This is the first time that I have kitbashed a car kit, I tend to build more or less straight from the box with a few added details so I am pleased with how this one has turned out. As usual guys, all thoughts and comments are welcome and thanks for looking.
  20. Hi guys, thanks very much for your comments and thoughts. The pictures really do not do this car justice believe me, in the right light, the paintwork really does pop! I promise that when we have some good weather, I will try and get some outdoor pics, hopefully to show off the paint a bit better.
  21. Here is number 8 so far this year, the AMT Muscle 2006 Chevy Camaro. This was saved from a friend of mine who had sprayed it red but was unhappy with the finish. I sanded it down and sprayed it gloss black followed by 3 coats of a blue/green/purple multi effect aerosol spray. Other than some tyre valves and a photo etch license plate frame, this fairly basic kit went together fairly well. As usual, all thoughts and comments are welcome guys!!
  22. Hi folks, here is model number 7 for me this year, my BMW Z3 Coupe. This is the Revell Advantage kit which has the pre painted body, mine was in a solid dark blue colour which even though was finished to quite a high standard, it looked a little toy like. After sanding down the body, it was primered and then resprayed in Tamiya Mica Blue metallic and polished up. The decals were the self adhesive type which concerned me somewhat but after I trimmed them with a fresh blade they stuck down quite well. The whole kit took me just under 2 weeks to complete so any thoughts and comments are welcome and thanks for looking.
