  1. Thanks guys, I appreciate all your comments!!
  2. Thanks again to everyone for all your comments. Barry, I think you would be able to make this into a great looking service truck, the photo etch you could probably live without and the different wheels and tyres would'nt make too much of a difference I don't think. Being a crew cab, you could always get shot of the box, extend the chassis and make a rollback and build as a race car hauler. That was an idea I had but I'm afraid my scratch building skills are slim to zero!! Best of luck in whatever you choose to do with yours, for $7( roughly about £4 in english money, I paid £40 for mine), you have scored a bargain!!
  3. Thanks for all your comments guys, I really appreciate them. Scott,if I remember rightly, this DAF is the Master Truck that you are referring to, I no longer have the box to check but if it has Commercial Motor decals and has a right hand drive dashboard, then you have the one that I have built here. I am glad that I have given you inspiration to build yours, after all, is'nt what this is all about?? Thanks again for all your comments.
  4. Thanks very much for that info, I will certainly look into that. I think that a set of hoses would finish the truck off properly but was'nt sure how to go about doing it so I appreciate the help.
  5. Nice job on the mustang, I may be tempted to get one of these myself. As for the paint job, I'd be happy if mine came out with a shine that good!!
  6. Well done with your sons model kit. Is it his first one and does he plan to follow in his dads hobby? lol!!
  7. Volvoman

    Bug finished

Nice job on your beetle, beautiful colour, it suits the car well.
  8. I'm not really a big fan of 911's but yours is stunning, I like the wheels, red on white seem to go together. Your airbrush skills are very good; I can never get to grips with them so anyones skills are better than mine!!
  9. This kit is the Trumpeter American La France fire pumper that I built a couple of years ago. The kit was built pretty much box stock, the only addition being some mudflaps made from small sheets of thin rubber. The hardest part for me was to get a good seperation between the red and the white without any bleed through which I was pleased to have achieved quite well. Please enjoy these pics and all comments are welcome .
  10. A really good job on the General, i'm sure Cooter will be able to turn it around though...!!!
  11. Considering you had problems Eric, your skyline looks clean and tidy, a really nice build.
  12. I built one of these a while back, yours looks great!! I do agree with Eric though, a better background will make your Ecto really stand out.Very well done.
  13. This is the Tamiya Porsche 935 racing that I built a while back. The kit was a fairly simplistic build as it is one of the old motorised kits from the early days which was re-released. The interior recieved some basic detailing while the body was painted in Tamiya gloss white before the rather complex Martini stripes were added,(the ones around the rear wheel arches were a pig to get right!!) and the car was then mounted on a Fujimi race track base. All comments are welcome guys and thanks for looking.
  14. Hi anthony, just for the record, the susies is just another name for the airlines. Thanks for your comments.
  15. Lovely diorama and excellent groundwork. Very well done.
  16. This is a model that I built a couple of years ago that I thought I would share with you. The kit is the old Italeri Leyland DAF Commercial Motor special edition, this being a special edition because this was one of the rare occasions that an Italeri kit came with a right hand drive dashboard. Because the decals were shot, I decided to go with my own ficticious colour scheme, that being Ford Juice green metallic paint from Halfords and a chassis that was painted in grey primer and the decals were from my decal spares box. The rear susies were scratch built and the solid plastic tyres which came with the kit were swopped in favour for a set from a Scania wrecker which had rubber tyres and chrome wheels. The rear mudguards were taken from a Mercedes truck and the rear locker, roof lights, air horns and marker posts are from the truck accesories set. Numberplates and surrounds are from KFS as is the DILLIGAF plate in the front windscreen ( a nod there to Kevin Bloody Wilson, the Aussie comedian) and there is a photo reduced poster of glamour girl Ruth Higham on the rear wall (although unfortunately, you can't quite see it!!) The mountain bike behind the cab is from the Fujimi roof box accessories set, I had the idea to do this after a truck passed me once with one strapped to the back of it's cab. As usual, all comments are welcome and thanks for looking guys.
  17. Looks like someone had an argument with a tree...and the tree won!! Really nice work and very realistic.
  18. Really cool idea, certainly different. So how about a good idea for another disscussion thread? How many different General Lee's can be made using different cars, maybe calling it The Frauds of Hazzard?? I think I may have a few idea's running round my head.....!!
  19. very realistic damage and weathering. I'm sure that damage will buff out......!!
  20. Very nice Mustang Slusher, your foiling looks spot on and the colour looks good too. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Thanks again for your comments Darren and I'm glad to be of help. Don't forget to post some pics when she's done!!
  22. Thanks for your comments Hary Bare, it's suprising to see that Routemasters can be seen all over he world, I have a handbook from a few years ago which tells you the wherabouts of all the surviving Routemasters in the world and who owns them.I will have to try and look this paricular one up. Hello again Darren, you asked me about the grab handles on the seat frames ; to be honest all I did was paint them silver along with the seat frames at the same time. I wish you all the best with the seats, the decals were very time consuming and believe me, you will be glad when they are all finished!!
  23. Over here in the UK, James May( he from Top Gear) managed to produce a 1/1 scale supermarine spitfire fighter plane after being told by Airfix that it would be impossible to produce. It was put together by some model engineers after being made by a company that make fibre glass aircraft replicas and is now currently residing at the RAF Cosford aircraft museum in the UK. I know that this is'nt a car and it was'nt put into production but I thought that I would share this useless bit of info with you!!
  24. Just for the record, here's a couple of pics of the real deal,(I'm the ugly mug posing next to the beautiful car!!)
