  1. Thanks for your comments guys, when you her positive comments like these, it makes a difficult build more worthwhile.
  2. Hi folks, just finished this one up today, Italeri's Fiat 131 Abarth. As far as kits go, this was on absolute nightmare to put together. Originally an Esci kit that has since been rereleased by Italeri and Revell, it certainly shows its age. It took me about 2 hours to clean up the body from all the mould lines and flash before I was happy enough to put primer and paint on it. Colour is Fiat white from a spray can and the Cartograf decals were a dream to use although a bit tricky to settle down in some places so a lot of decal fix was used. I scratchbuilt some rear mudflaps to finish the car off and I must admit that although I am pleased with the overall build of the model, I shall not be building another one in a hurry! As usual, all thoughts and comments are most welcome.
  3. This has recently been on sale here in the UK and its retailing at roughly £50.
  4. My all time favourite supercar, built beautifully nice and clean. I have both this and the spyder to build, if I can achieve a build half as good as yours I will be happy.
  5. Very impressive build, very realistic hoses and nice clean seperation between the red and white. I too have built one of these so I understand how much time and effort you need to put in to make something as good as this.
  6. Beautiful colour slusher, makes a change from seeing the blue and white ones...
  7. Love the Olds and love your office parking lot!!
  8. These keep getting better and better!! Hope to see the finished junkyard with all these crusty relics soon!!
  9. Thanks for the comments guys, I will try to answer your questions. kratvmd, this too was going to be a quick build but like you say, it is quite a rare kit so it made sense to make a decent job of it, my friend would never had forgiven me otherwise and thanks for the comments on the headrests. simon, the mobile phone is from a company called Eduard who normally do a lot of photoetch for the military modellers so I was suprised to find a 1/24 mobile phone fret whilst on holiday in the states last year. Each fret has about 20 different styles of phones so you would have plenty for future projects; check out their website and see what they have got to offer. foxer, the photos were taken on my mobile phone and the car was sat on my front wall, it was fairly early in the morning and the sun was quite low; I personally was'nt happy with the pics but after your comments , i'm thinking that maybe they are'nt too bad. Thanks again guys for all your comments.
  10. Works for me...!! Nice job on your Monaco.
  11. Hi folks, just finished my latest project, a Mercedes Benz 500sec. This model was given to me by a good friend who was thinning out his Mercedes model kit collection on the understanding of me 'doing a good job on it'. It is the old Tamiya kit from the 80,s and has been painted in Ford Paris Blue Metallic which I have been told is a very close match to a similar Mercedes colour and has had Bare Metal Foil used throughout on the body. The interior has been painted in Tamiya deck tan and fine mesh was used on the headrests after being drilled out. An Eduard photoetch mobile phone and holder were fixed to the dashboard( bought whilst on a trip to the states last year, never seen them here in the U.K!!) and K.F.S. supplied the front and rear numberplates, tax disc and resin baseball cap on the rear parcel shelf. My friend has since seen the completed model and has asked if he can swop it back for another one of his unbuilt kits! I have told him that this one is staying with me! As usual, all comments are welcome and thanks for looking. <a href="http://s1107.beta.photobucket.com/user/markr3/library/" target=_blank"><img src="http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h400/markr3/2012-10-14110429.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/></a> <a href="http://s1107.beta.photobucket.com/user/markr3/library/" target=_blank"><img src="http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h400/markr3/2012-10-14110417.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/></a> <a href="http://s1107.beta.photobucket.com/user/markr3/library/" target=_blank"><img src="http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h400/markr3/2012-10-14110354.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/></a> <a href="http://s1107.beta.photobucket.com/user/markr3/library/" target=_blank"><img src="http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h400/markr3/2012-10-14110404.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/></a> <a href="http://s1107.beta.photobucket.com/user/markr3/library/" target=_blank"><img src="http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h400/markr3/2012-10-14110304.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/></a>
  12. Good build on your Impala, I have one of these and plan to build a Las Vegas Metro Police car with decals that I bought whilst there last year.
  13. Good job on your Crown Victoria, good to see a different version
  14. Nice work on your Monaco, I built a a Military police version and I used the wheels and tyres from a Hobby Heaven Ford police car but used the hubcaps from the Monaco. As for your roof beacon, why not paint the outside in Tamiya clear blue using either a toothpick or very small brush. I always paint all my lights on the outside without any problems at all. Once again, good job and very clean.
  15. Nice looking Caddy, just love them big old barges!!
  16. Cheers Matt, will look at the site and see what I can find.
  17. 2 lovely builds here Matt, I too have these kits in my stash waiting patiently for the day I will start them. Just one question if you don't mind me asking, where exactly do you get zero paints from? I must admit, I have never heard of them but it would be a good idea to get some in stock and keep on the shelf for when the time comes. Thanks Matt and once again, great models.
  18. Thanks for the info on the 1/12 scale Datsun, Bob, I actually have one in my stash but decided to build the smaller version first. I think that the large scale version could well be up for a super-detailed project but I will do that when i'm feeling brave enough to tackle the job. Thanks for all the comments folks.
  19. I really like your Ranchero, we could do with a few companies here in the uk to do some stuff like this. I would certainly get hold of some. Thanks for sharing.
  20. This is the Hasegawa Datsun 240z rally car that I built earlier this year. Paint is Halfords Nissan red (the same red as used on my Routemaster bus) and was built more or less out of the box for a quick build.I added some slight weathering on the tyres and along the side of the car but unfortunaely you can't quite see it in the pictures. Thanks for looking guys.
  21. Very, very nice!! Beautiful colour and great attention to detail. That base is really good too.
  22. I will second this, I have the Simil-R Focus and would love a set of these decals!!
  23. I have never seen this kit, I like it a lot.
  24. Love it Johnathan, I'm a big Impreza fan and yours looks great.Well done.
