Hey, it's not like someone disagreed with you about calling Bareass a "designer". 😁
Sorry, I was talking about Sam! LOL

The Late Bob Paeth told me that he and Mr. Keeler worked on several kits together. I don't remember which ones. But, Mr. Keeler was most certainly involved with some well known 1960's Revell Kits.
Oh, absolutely, Keeler was a big part of the early days of the hobby and lots of credit is due to him, and yes, he was quite instrumental in the design process, but I would not really call him a designer, but that is just me. I voiced it out loud and apparently met some resistance.
And that is all I have to say about that.

Jim Keeler worked for Revell in the early 60s. He was involved in the design of many of the kits, and possibly the parts packs, we know and love.
I know who Keeler is, I just would not call him a designer. Tom Daniels, Yes, Barris, Yes, Keeler, not so much.

JIM Keeler was in on the original design of these kits, if not the designer himself. He has been a consultant in the packaging and marketing of the Atlantis version of these kits.
What did he do that is original to him? Consulting is not Designing

I believe Ed Keeler might be driving some of this, him being the original designer
How is Keeler the designer? All the parts are pre made items. By that, I mean, Pontiac Engine, Chassis Research Chassis, etc..
He came up with ideas to kit, the rest is just parts someone else designed. Atlantis moving stuff around would alone make it their design. Right?

Doesn't the Scarlett Screamer look like the Mooneyes Dragster. Is this basically the same kit?
Mooneyes uses a Dragmaster Chassis, the Scarlet is a Chassis Research K-88 Dogsled chassis

Only thing I can't get on board with is "they should do it for us".
OK...like why? How big is the market, really, for an AWB Olds convertible?
Well, seeing how well the Chevelle Funny Car did, I don't think there will be a lack of want for the Olds.
There are lots of us who have a few missing pieces in the collections, and having the ability to fill it with a kit we can save and build, is pretty appealing.

If I ever build a prostreet, it will be a Chevette.
Maybe that "promise" will help those who want it reissued?- 2

That is a 65 Chevelle Z-16, just like the Revell kit.
Does this mean I can't have fun with the AMT kit?

The whole body is off in multiple respects.
#1. The real car had much lower rear wheel arches, not radiused up high into the quarter panel like the kit's
#2. The top chop is wrong in the kit. The real car didn't have the a-pillars leaned back like the kit. The roof itself on the real car was lengthened to accommodate the chop. The kit's roof also seems to be raked downward at the front. The real car appears to have a dead-level chop.
#3. The real car had headlamps. The kit's are blanked off.
And that's just kind of a start. It's too bad MPC didn't put more effort into making accurate replicas with some of their race car kits

so it begs the question, do they still have it? It is basically the Ohio kit, but with the better nose. Making a proper opening using this nose would be tons easier.

From fellow Model Club member Bruce Snyder. He stopped at Pegasus on his way to GNRS.
"First I stopped at Pegasus hobbies and picked up a few models and talked to Larry the owner of Pegasus and Moebius models.Asked about the in the works Chevy ramp truck…….he is remeasuring the cab as the current specs are not totally as accurate as he wants…..This ram-truck will probably not be out until late in the year. The Maverick is about ready to be produced…..different issues will be coming hopefully in 5-6 months. The AWB and street versions of the 65 Dodge are about to be started in the mold process and expected to be produced late this year…Got a picture of this Ford tow truck on the shelf……coming soon"- 9

Fellow Model Car Club member Bruce Snyder stopped by Pegasus on the way to GNRS and got some info on some kits, here is what he was told on this kit.
"The AWB and street versions of the 65 Dodge are about to be started in the mold process and expected to be produced late this year…"So as Mr Mopar's post shows, it will be later this year indeed. -
Well, since we are swinging for the fences!

I have a couple of hefty bags full of parts that came from two liquidated collections. I am pretty sure there probably some complete kits in there, but I have not sorted it out! And yes, this is on top of my own spares collection!
Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....

I know who he is, I know what he did. Why does everyone feel like giving history lessons on this guy. So Ford and Mickey Thompson didn't design those cars? Keeler did?
