Let's do it! Thanks, Jesse. Yeah it's been a long time coming! I've been just futzing around in the shop, waiting to see what grabs me, next I have a few directions I could go, one of which is my Surfers project. If I remember correctly, the chassis is done, except for tabs and stuff, and it's been "Riceman Approved", so, maybe...
The Riceman Seal of Approval is a good thing to have! Get it done!

Wow! Looks killer! So awesome to see it at the finish line!
Let's mix some fuel!

Steve Scott. A bit of a controversial character down the years apparently.
Is the Uncertain T his one and only claim to fame? Not heard of any other rods credited to him like Barris or Roth.
If so he appears to have acquired some sort of a deity status for making just the one car.
Maybe Monogram's short lived production of the Uncerain T kit has given rise to all the discussions and speculation on here. It is interesting that the car has been rediscovered as it has developed a bit of a cult status.
Despite all this hype Scott's creation at such an early age has to be admired. Not sure what it's present owner will do with the car, but hopefully will be sympathetically restored to original look.
There are many other good show rods out there worth looking out that have been kit subjects.
I take it you did not bother to watch the videos posted or the links provided to the articles on the car.

A model club monthly theme or I am excited for a new kit.

They haven’t done so with the golden commandos 65 awb Plymouth yet
I am sure something is in the works. They did it with the 65 Plymouth Super Stocker, I am sure the Altered car is coming back soon.
And I am sure the same will be done with the Dodge.

Boy, that’s not many…
Well, copies of this decal version of the car. They will eventually make other decal versions of it as they have done with their other releases.

"hiding it"....Why? That makes no sense to me.
Also, does anyone have a link to all the other show rods that collection has? There is a lot there that I am more intested in seeing more of.
Simple, Steve Scott
And there are tons of vids on youtube of the Galpin collection and Dave Shuten's work

Wow, 10 years since this thread was started, and now the car is back. Too bad I am not going to the Roadster Show this year, but I am sure it will make other appearances.

I read that there is actually a Reward out there for anyone that shows proof of someone actually buying one of these.
These where probably free!

My wife collects antique glassware Heaven forbid that I make a Rum and Coke in one of them. The world would stop spinning. I am gonna ask the question in Off Topic are you just a collector or a builder?
Sadly, I buy faster than I build. I used to wait, but sometimes the kits would be off the shelves by the time I looked for them, so now I buy when I find them. And it is so hard to pass up a good deal. So yeah, they add up!

Yes I would like to know. Do I want to burden my family with liquidating my stuff or just dump all of it into the recycling bin?
Mike
The first collection was a Club Member who became incapacitated and had to go into a care facility. We managed to sell off quite a bit of his collection in chunks, donated some to the Military Rec Centers overseas and gave away supplies and partial kits to club members.
The second was a much larger collection, between kit shows and ebay, the collection was liquidated, but it did take some time and effort. HIs family handled ebay and I did the kit shows. Took almost two years to sell it off.
I know when you are gone it is not your problem anymore, but those left behind get to clean it up. Hence why I am about to start cutting my stuff back. And I know I am above the 2K mark with my kits. Would be nice to stop paying for a Mini Storage every month! LOL!

Looking forward, what is gonna happen to my all my kits when I die?
Mike
Do you really want to know? Because it is rarely a pretty picture.
I have helped liquidate two collections and it was no fun. My friends are gone and it is not their problem anymore, it is now the survivors problem, and it is a lot of work.

Be aware, the photos at that link are a bit deceiving in that most photos are of the model, but the photos of the wheels are of 1:1 wheels, not the actual kit wheels.
True, but they could also be Pre Production images of the box mock up. Unless the kit is already out on the market. But yeah, that photo of the wheels blanked out makes you take note.

I did.
It looks like this Aoshima kit has something similar, although I'm not sure if they'd be as nicely detailed: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10736540
I found that a set of 14" tyres from a Fujimi kit fitted them nicely - they had a slightly taller profile and less of a stretched look.
Oh wow! Finally, they kitted the wheels! Looks like I will be going to order one of those instead. Thanks for the link!

Code on the ones i got is SRP 015 if you want to try and find some closer to home. They're supposedly 15", but to me seem more like 14". I might try them with some different tyres.
The 1200 was a very endearing little thing to drive. Mine was very basic with no carpet or radio, but the little A12 engine and light weight made it fun to nip around in on the country roads.
Did you get them through Hiroboy?

Amongst other stuff picked up recently:
Bottom right wheels are 15" Gotti by Studio Rosso, a possibility for the Tamiya Nissan 240ZG I'm just about to start. The mesh wheels were another possibility, but not really the look I want to go for. Signs are for a diorama, one day....
The Datsun is something of a Holy Grail kit for me, as I had a 2-door 1200 just like that a few years ago and by harvesting some parts from a Hasegawa Datsun Sunny Truck I have in the stash I should be able to come up with a very close replica of my old 1:1.
I got some Gotti's, now I need them in resin! LOL! And yes, the 1200 is killer! I passed on one back in the 80's because it wasn't a 510, and I regret it. The guy only wanted $75 for it! Just had a bad head gasket.
